Wondering if anyone has opinions on the counter service place at POFQ - should we eat there or head to DTD? (We will be at POFQ only one night; we plan to eat at Earl of Sandwich for dinner another night in our trip.) The reviews seem mixed on Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.

Thanks!:)

As you said there are mixed reviews and it have been a while since we were there, but when we stayed at POFQ we enjoyed the CS offerings and ate there almost daily when we stayed.

I would take the boat to DTD and eat at WPE. We ate there in August for the first time, and it was amazing. We each ordered a different pizza, and they were all very good!!

I would head to WPE at DTD if your up to it. I would also consider going next door to the Mill at POR and then hang out a bit and watch "Yehaa Bob" Jackson for a little while before heading back to POFQ.

I would highly recommend going to Earl of Sandwich because in my opinion they have the best prices in Walt Disney World and their Sandwiches tastes great.

Are you completely committed to having a quick service dinner that night? We had dinner at Boatwright's on Sunday and loved our meal. It's only a five minute walk from the French Quarter to Boatwright's at Riverside.

Another vote for WPE (Marketplace):thumbsup2 . We eat there several times on every trip.
Then catch the boat back & check out "Yeeha Bob " at POR.

I have heard lovely things about Boatwright's! We'll see how the day goes; our kiddos may not be in the mood to sit after the airplane and bus.

Thanks everyone for the feedback :)

What time will you be getting to the resort? That would be the deciding factor for me.

Our flight lands at roughly 3:40. It all depends on DME! We will definitely be playing it by ear; I always love to hear from those who've experienced it before, though.

3:40 flight arrival, 70 minute average for DME (based off of the transportation boards) would put you at the resort at about 4:50. Lets round that up to 5:00 because I am lazy and tired :lmao:.

After a full day of traveling, especially with young kids, I am not sure I would be wanting to travel to DTD for dinner. IF you feel the kids are up to it, I would do WGP Express as it has a great selection. IF you don't feel up to it, then I liked the CS at POFQ. They had a good selection and it was decently tasty. I was happy with it.

If you have energy, but not in the mood for DTD, you could head over to POR. Their food court is larger and has more of a selection.

We love POFQ but the food court there is not high on my list. I would recommend WPE...one of our favorite CS meals! Plus DTD is always fun to walk around.

I would take the boat (very short ride) up to Port Orleans Riverside and do the create your own pasta bar. French Quarter is OK, but Riverside has more choices.

After all that travel, and then going to the parks the next day...don't think I'd want to take the boat to Downtown Disney...and then hike over to the restaurants (they are not right next to the boat dock.)

Riverside is a very short ride away, then the restaurant is right there (around the walkway from the boat dock.) AFter you eat, go explore French Quarter, swim, etc. It's a great little resort for a short stay since everything at Fr. Quarter is so close together.
