Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be taking a short trip to Disney over spring break this March. We are trying to make the most of our short time there (only four days), and eating at table service restaurants is something we really enjoyed on my husband's first trip last year. We have no park tickets on our arrival day and will be arriving to our resort early in the morning, since we are driving from another part of Florida (we are visiting relatives first). We ideally wanted to eat at both Ohana and Raglan Road, but I am finding it difficult to schedule both restaurants since Ohana doesn't open until 3:30 PM. I made a very early dinner Ohana adr for 3:45 (hoping that we could potentially be seated at 3:30 at opening). Originally, I was going to make a very late reservation for 10:30ish at Raglan Road, but I saw on the RR website that the dancing only goes until 10 PM, so I changed the adr to 9:15 PM hoping to catch some of the evening entertainment. I am worried that we won't even be hungry though, even for such a late dinner, after eating a huge meal around 3:30ish at Ohana! What do you all think- is this a crazy plan? We are a younger couple (mid-20's) with no children, so I am more worried about food volume than staying up late! I also just managed to grab another Ohana reservation for our Magic Kingdom day two days later, but I am thinking that we might not want to waste time traveling to the Polynesian on such a short trip when we will only be at the MK for one day. I know that a lot of people love Raglan Road (we have never been), but we also really want to eat at Ohana. Hard choices! So I guess my questions are:
If we do keep both reservations, do you think we should do both on arrival day or use time on our MK day to go to the Polynesian?
What are our chances of being seated at Ohana right around 3:30 with a 3:45 reservation (I know there can be long waits as the evening progresses!)?
I read somewhere that the dancers at Raglan Road only perform once per hour- would we be likely to see the dancers at 9:15 or do they perform on the hour? The dancing/entertainment is a big part of why we want to try the restaurant out so it would be a shame to miss the last performance!
Thanks so much in advance if any of you have thoughts/ advice! :)

Although it is always possible that the dance show schedule at Raglan Road could change, the last I knew the show was at the top of each hour from 4PM to 9PM, and the dance portion lasted only five minutes. (After that, there is still a band for the rest of each hour, but not dancing). If you arrive at 9:15PM you'll probably miss the dance show entirely.

Did you think about doing weekend brunch at Raglan Road? If you're arriving on a Saturday or Sunday, they have dance shows starting at noon, and these dance shows are longer than the evening ones.

Hi DaisyDuck,
Thanks so much for your reply! I am so glad that you told me how short the dancing is and that it is usually only at the top of the hour!! That would have been a disappointment otherwise. That is a really great idea about the weekend brunch, but unfortunately, we are arriving on a Wednesday. I guess we will either need to move Raglan Road even earlier or save it for next trip...

If I were in my 20's with no kids I would totally do this!! Yes, I would show up at O'hana at 3:30 pm. Even if you are seated at 3:45 pm, you'll be out by 5 pm or 20. Then, perhaps, try to get a reservation at Raglan Road around 8:45 pm so you can catch the 9 pm show? You probably won't be hungry at all, but you could just order drinks and apps if the main goal is to see the show.

We just had a 6:40 pm at O'hana in December and were seated by 6:45 pm. I don't think you'll have a long wait at 3:45 pm.

Thanks for the advice, DisneyWishes! I just changed our Raglan Road reservation to 8:45 that night and I think we might go for it :-) That is a good point that we could always just order drinks and appetizers/ desserts if we're not too hungry- hopefully we will get an kind waiter/waitress who won't give us attitude if it comes to that!
