Another question for you guys!

I was wondering if there are any advantages to choosing an earlier arrival date over a later one for the DCP? Other than the obvious "getting to go to Disney sooner".

My DD picked the earliest arrival date available, but I'm pretty sure it was to get to Disney as soon as she could! Lol! Congratulations and hope you have a magical time!!

Well the one thing I will say that we have seen is the last arrivals have often not gotten anything they requested as far as housing. At that point, they are usually trying to fill in the empty holes in housing. So even if you signed up for roommates if they only have "beds" left, you are getting separated and plugged into those spots. We have even seen cases where there were 2 girls who signed up to be roommates and there were 2 beds in the same apartment (which is all Disney really knows) and when the girls arrived, the beds were in different bedrooms and the girls who were already there were not willing to change rooms. It can be a tricky situation.

I had a fairly early arrival date and I enjoyed being "established" as the new CPs came in...I arrived May 18, on June 26th when the last group of FA cps were arriving, I had finally been trained and had a decent idea how to do the job. That was something I liked. Also I wanted to maximize my time.

My DD picked the second week august 14th. She was concerned about moving out of her apartment end of July and getting ready to move to Florida.

I selected the earliest date, the 7th. Part of it was we live in WI and have to drive down and needed to plan around my younger brother's start of his sophomore year of HS, and I wanted to be in Disney earlier as opposed to later, so I would grow more comfortable there and be a bit more established.

Thank you for the replies! I'm gonna go with the 2nd arrival date (May 22) because my family wants me home for an extra week. I live an hour away so travel isn't an issue, but I'm not gonna go with the latest date because I'd like to get one of my top choices for housing.
