Having book for 7th April we had planned to buy annual passes, but now I see that the Fantasy Pass has a blackout day on 8th April 2007 (and I was sure I checked!).

I guess this means we either skip the first day, or we buy 4 day hopper passes and accept the fact that we were unlikely to visit again during the next year anyway?

Any alternative suggestions would be very welcome! Also, suggestions as the cheapest way to obtain 4 day hopper passes.

Buying hoppers on-line gives a slight discount. Might be worth pricing the Dream passport against Fantasy with day ticket for black-out day.

Don't forget the Dream passes get you into the park an hour early which will certainly be worth it over Easter. Plus the 20% discount vouchers for dining and shopping........

Yes the Dream AP has no black out dates as it was the ones we had to buy as we tend to only be able to visit at popular times! Also as stated above, you do get all the discounts for shopping, restaurants etc. You should also get some FP when you buy your AP which will be very useful over the busy Easter period.

I don't know what the difference in cost is between Dream/Fantasy APs/hopper tickets but you may find what you save in discounts covers all or part of the additional cost.

If you are a shareholder you will be entitled to a discount on the cost of the AP.

From what I could see in the guide in this forum the discount for Dream is 10% - same as Fantasy.

I've done my sums and it appears Fantasy would be £80 (with the 10% sponsor discount), so a total of £110 if puchasing this along with a one day pass.

Dream works out at £120 (with the 10% sponsor discount) but I'm not entirely sure how much we would benefit for the discout on food, etc.

The cheapest I've found a 4 day hopper for is £84 so far.

Thinking aloud here (is that allowed? ) - would it possibly work out better if one of us had a Dream passport and used the discount on tickets to purchase a 4 day ticket for the other one? This would also give us discount on food and purchases presumably, but how would fast passes work? And how would it work regarding only one of us getting into the park an hour earlier? Would getting discount for the second person be difficult prior to actually obtaining the Dream Pass? Or have I lost the plot here totally?

That's right but you get a one off voucher per passport of 20% for food and for merchandise. The food one is valid for one meal. The shopping one is valid for one day. So if you save all your shopping to one day it can add up

Thanks, but the difference between 2 Dream AP and two 4 day hoppers is a staggering £72, which still seems like a lot to me, particularly if we are not able to return.

Can anyone comment on my idea of getting just one Dream and using the 20% discount to buy the other person's tickets - would this work?

Sorry, can't help with that but to both be able to get in the park early you would both have to have a Dream passport.

It may work. You would obviously have to go into the park yourself and get annual passport at the bureau. Then come back out and queue at the booth and buy discounted day pass. Each day you would need to go to the ticket booth and buy a day ticket.

This on the basis of condition "1 Day Park Passes for Friends, 20% Reduction all year.(3), (3) Maximum 5 tickets per day."

Thanks both of you, I am swaying more and more towards simply buying 4 day hopper tickets online in advance, I've seen the queues at ticket booths

Just answered my own question! Have a look here, they are £106 each here, perhaps you will be able to get them cheaper on another site?

I may have good news for you , I hope.I don't think your day of purchase counts as a blackout day so you should be able to buy your fantasy passes as originally planned. I'm sure I read this on an earlier translation of the annual passport form.

Yes, I had considered this and one option may have been to not go in the park on the first day, but as Kimbee says we waste half a day that way.

I have found a site - https://www.365tickets.com/ - they have 4 day hoppers for £84.95 and I had a fast response to an email I sent asking about postage, it's free so long as you aren't going within 14 days! I'm still researching though if anyone has any further suggestions?

Also, I believe that you can purchase an annual pass at the gates and maybe you could then use if straight away to purchase the day tickets on the first day - not sure hopefully some-one can advise on this option. I found Guest Services (near left luggage) very helpful before when I was not sure about the best way to buy tickets.

Can anyone confirm this? It sounds like good news as we may be able to purchase tickets for the blackout day for £16 each, I looked at the AP website and from my pigeon French it appears that the discount is indeed 50%, but would we be entitled to purchase tickets for the next day in this way?

The thing is, I don't want to wait until we get there and talk to Guest Relations, before making a decision as if I'm buying 4-day hopper tickets they are a lot cheaper bought in advance.
