I am doing a around-the-world/travel theme. I wanted to get some ideas on how I can incorporate this theme into the ceremony and reception. Ideas? Since we are incorporating different aspects of cultures and languages...this fits us. Look forward to ALL feedback. Thanks in advance for your help! :littleangel:

Have you heard of the wine/love letter ceremony? If you would like a refresher, here is a thread about it from not too long ago:

Now, here is my thought... maybe, instead of finding a usual wooden/metal box to store your love letter in, maybe you can find a small, vintage piece of luggage to store the items in during/after the ceremony. Like so:

Then maybe you can decorate with stamps/stickers of places you hope to go after you two are married. I think that would be really fun! :goodvibes

For your reception, you should have food from around the world!!!! I would LOVE to help you plan that menu :rotfl: You can also use a lot of different types of music that represent different cultures!

And if you are having a bar... various cocktails too! Wines from France, beer from Germany... That will be a fun party! :rotfl:

Oooh! That sounds like a wonderful theme!! You could put a small, fancy suitcase as your centerpieces and fill it with all sorts of "artifacts" from other places, spilling out with silks and other fun fabrics. Or you could find some very unusual floral for the centerpiece. I've seen some great plants from Africa, or even something like orchids. Maybe in the programs or as gifts you could include a little book of wedding traditions from around the world. Or even have an assortment of fun hats from all over (of course including the mickey ears). I also saw a calendar of old travel advertisements from the '50s recently. You could dig up some of those types of images for some fun accents. Checking any local antique stores can give lots of ideas too, I recently bought a huge Japanese rice wine jug at one.

Great idea, thank you.

I would probably choose a signature drink since I'm not much of a drinker.
