We where planning on going november 12th for 5 days.

Now i noticed that the 11th is a National holiday.

I think i read somewhere that the kids in the paris area

are free on wednesday, will this make it extra busy on those days

or the week?

It's also a notional holiday in Belgium, and I've heard from previous years that it can be very crowded.

We were there 11th last year and I wouldn't have said it was any busier than it was in May, but we are going a week later this nov simply because they have jumped up the prices.

The 11th will be very busy as it's a national holiday but I wouldn't have thought the rest of the week would be because children will be back at school. You might see more children around on Wednesday as they either have the whole day free or it's a half-day (I forget which) but not enough to make a really significant difference.

We went a few years back (2010) and it was Thursday - extremely busy as what tends to happen is the nearer the weekend, the more time people took off of work/school. To be honest, it was manic. I don't think people will turn a Wednesday into a long weekend, but it will certainly be busier than usual (we noticed it as the Monday - Wednesday it was dead, and I mean dead. It was raining non stop and people just didn't embrace it.....Thursday onwards though, was as if the whole of France had turned up!) Just go with a plan :)
