Has anyone else noticed that since January the number of units in Central FL has gone WAYYYYYYYYY down?

Anyone heard whats going on?

I too have noticed this. I am not going to Disney until Novmeber and would love to add an extra nondisney week just to relax and be with my family. However there are only 6 for that time and none during the week that I am looking for. I am hoping it is just too early to book and it will improve.

Best of luck on your search.

I agree units were typically plentiful for all but peak months in the past and now the choices are very slim! We have used AFVC several times in Florida and have always enjoyed our stay, I will be dissapointed if the current availability doesn't improve.

We didn't buy into DVC because of the $256/week rentals, and the fact that SOG is $99/night...a weeks stay for what the dues would be for any of the DVC resorts...but we never really explored what the $256 could do for us...anyone have any stories ?

We've used it in 2004 for a Disney trip ($249). (see siggy below)
In 2005, price was $264 & availability was slimmer, so we opted to try SkyAuction.com; where I won a ReadySetGo auction (where you pick the resort you want) with a bid of $221 thus savings us money. Now, I see price is up to $299. Try auction sites. They could have more availability for less money.

Each time we've gotten a 2 bedroom / 2 bath condo with full kitchen & laundry in the condo.

We've had family with us and everyone was impressed on how nice they were; and NOT just for the price. Nice places in general. And I'm picky about where I stay.

We have used AFV four or five times now, both in FL and at the Atlantic Beach here in NC. We have been very pleased with all our stays.

In FL we have stayed at Celibration Resort. The resort is about five or six minutes away from AK accross 192.

you just cant beat the price even at 299.00 for the week. We are DVC and usually book AFV for the week prior or following or stay on property.

Just bums me out that there seems to be no rooms around Disney or anywhere else for that matter.
