My dad has decided to join us on our trip in November. He is retired military and will be purchasing the AFS ticket (4-day hopper).

However, we are doing 5 park days so he will need to buy a single day ticket directly from Disney.

Question: how will the MB know which ticket to use each day? It's cheaper to buy a single day ticket for AK/DHS/EP than MK. And the single day would not have hopping privileges. We will not park hop, but he may on one of the days.

This seems really confusing to me.....has anyone done this recently? :confused3

1- Have Guest Relations "prioritize" your tickets.

2- Yes, it is.

3- Many have asked, and that's the answer.
The ticket with the top priority is used at the gate.

The AFS ticket program runs through Sept 27, 2014. The current tickets aren't valid after that date. There is usually an official announcement around August about a renewal of the program and if any details have changed. It's too early to tell yet what's in store for your November trip. I hope for good news about AFS program renewal ...

He can always use the one-day ticket for entrance at AK, DHS, or EPCOT and use his MagicBand for entrance on the other four days. Then, he won't have to prioritize tickets on his MB - they can be linked to MDE to pre-select Fp+. The MagicBand or the one-day ticket can be used at the Fp+ tapstile.

We're hoping they extend the dates as well. Going this Oct w/ our Son who is active duty. His 1st time since he was 15 and he's almost 29 :woohoo:

Thanks Robo! The problem is our AK/DHS/EP days are sandwiched in between our MK days (most likely). So we would need the ticket priorities split up. Not sure that is even an option.

Ah! This may work. :) Both will be entered in MDE and his MB, we can select FP+ for both, just use the actual ticket on the day he wants to use it....

But if we purchase the ticket in advance, will he receive an actual ticket when we check in to our resort? I thought they were not giving out tickets anymore.

Yes, he just needs to choose the "Mail" option and the ticket will be sent to him. All off-site guests still use the plastic ticket media.

Yes, it is an option.
You'd just have Guest Relations change the ticket priority every time a different ticket is needed for that day (or individual entry.)

I'm not saying that you must or even should do it, but it IS the "solution" provided by Disney.
(And, yes, I think that it is cumbersome and unnecessarily difficult, but welcome to the new "easy way" to visit WDW.)

The use of individual tickets (as suggested) is also possible
(and it looks like you'll do that) but, your question was relating to multiple tickets in MyDisneyExperience
(in conjunction with MagicBands or even RFID tickets,)
so I wanted to answer that specifically, as others are wanting to use the MagicBands exclusively.

I have to think that when the combined minds at WDW first conceived this "new, easy way" of MB,
they did not consider the vast number of complexities (AKA "unintended consequences")
that the change-over would generate with so many different kinds of guest situations.
