Haven't been on it either, but there is lots of info (including spoilers) about it here on dlrpmagic :)

I have been on this attraction and was very disappointed with it...after being jampacked into a room, standing, for the "preshow" where a guy talks to you and 5 languages are translated on TV, after standing for what felt like eternity and seeing no special effects, they take you into room number 2, which has all the special effects, which is bascially a lot of smoke and noise. I love the Backdraft at Universal, so I am a fan of these types of shows...but I feel this was poorly done and pretty boring.
:confused3

i agree,it was ok,not what i expected though!

but the first bit very boring and the french guy ever so annoying

i wouldnt queue for it,but worth a go if you like that kinda thing :)

ah right i wondered if it was like the rides at universal in the states i wont que for it then may be if there is a short que

Dont be fooled by the fact that if theres a short queue you will be in quickly. Outside there are 2 holding pens. We were ushered into one which had very few people in and thought great. However we had to stand there for about 10 mins (the other holding pen went inside first) then we were allowed into room 1 where we had to stand and listen to the intro thing for about 10 mins then we were allowed into the actual attraction.
It is one of those attractions where you pretend you are being used as extras in filming. there are lots of sound and other effects some of which can be intense for young children although wasnt as bad as what I thought it might be.

It was Ok but I wouldnt bother to do it again

and its suitable for age 1 + ???

my 5 yr old didnt do this with us,and im glad as he would probably have freaked !

I thought it was a big let down.
The only up side- it was really cold that day- and when we went in, we ended up in front of one of the doors- so when the pyrotechnics went off, it was like a nice roasting machine.
We took our kids on it- they are 7 and 8. My daughter freaked a little, but not much- mostly about the noise... she was unimpressed as the rest of us were.:sad2:

It's a long wait for a very short piece of action. It's ok to do once, but not a repeat option like Rock N Roller is.

The pre-show is also REALLY LONG. There was no line when we went and it still took a long while to get through. I would only do it if you have a lot of time and want to do every attraction.

is there a lot of flashing lights in it? as i have epilespy, i tried to find out when i went in may but no one was ever really sure, but we are panning a 3rd trip so i will know for next time.

I think there was quite a few flashing lights.

My kids 6 and 8 really liked it - especially as daddy was standing in just the wrong spot and got a gush of steam up his leg! :rotfl2:

I wouldn't queue for this because its the most boring one in the parks....sorry just my opinion....I mean how long do you have to stand listening to someone drone on....nope I never like it!!!;)

Well my boyfriend had to drag me on this because after my 10th trip to disneyland i still hadnt go on it cos i was too scared wat happened! (a ride named after the end of the world seems pretty ominous to me!!) so he dragged me on cos he wanted a go, and actually it was alright, a little bit of an anti climax. i would say if its a short queue you may as well do it, but like someone said before, its not one u do again and again

DS7 loved this attraction. He described it as a bit like Star Tours but you stand.
DD5 who freaked at Star Tours was not keen when the attraction was explained to her.

:lmao: :lmao: star tours........thats got to be the worst comparison ever :rotfl: :rotfl: sorry.

The first time we done this i thought it was superb.....it was the first ever thing i had been on in a theme park. Went on it again at xmas and it didnt seem the same. Im sure the first time it went pitch black for a while, whereas last time it didnt really get dark.......i still like the effects though.

armageddon sick and tired of all this moaning!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll get my coat!:rotfl2:

I was starting to think I was the only one that likes Armageddon. I do enjoy it, even the preshow. But then again, I enjoy attractions that aren't thrill rides or full of cartoon characters. Disney used to be about placesetting, and I think Armageddon does that well.
