Thank you, it IS a beautiful state and has very friendlly people. I just wish the state economy was better so we could move back. I have 3 sisters there.

Yeah, I would stay away from wearing a USC shirt right now too. I am glad you like the state. It really is a wonderful place to live and have a family.

I agree. I love Arkansas.

I wasn't born or raised there although I've spent much time around Paris and Ft Smith, I'm even an AR landowner. Arkansas is where my Dad's people are from, I have many relatives there including my Mom and sister.

Try scenic highway 309, that's our part of the woods (literally). It's so beautiful. DH and I were married on Mount Magazine (sigh).

Hi Octoberbeauty,

Nice to meet you! Not recent, I was married in my Aunt's backyard in 1994. I have seen the lodge though and you're right - it is gorgeous, incredible view (of course the view has always been there). Those cabins look wonderful too. I was in AR last April shortly before the lodge opened so I haven't seen the inside, can't wait to stay there someday. Every time we go back (about once a year) we go to the visitor center up there, love it! Especially the area where you can use the binoc's and bird watch.

My land is just down the mountain, off the Spring Lake road, near where my Dad was born and grew up.

I am sorry to hear about your DD.
