Arizona Brace

I have to wear an Arizona Brace on my ankle until I get an ankle transplant. Does anyone else wear one, and where do you get shoes to fit over it? Another point, there is times I have to rent a scooter when my ankle begins to ache when I am in Disney. When I walk I look as though I am fine and people give you those "looks" when you are on a scooter. How does everyone else deal with this.
