I'm reading online and it says:
Additional Information
Priority Seating is recommended and can be made in person for this location on a limited basis. Priority Seating can also be arranged in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE, or (714) 781-3463†.

Are there "special" seats that are more sought after that I would want to reserve?

I've never been, but want to take my DD the next time we go :)

Any other tips or pointers for Ariel's Grotto? :)

Priority seating is just a reservation. There are no special seats at Ariel's Grotto.

Hmm, I thought there was outdoor seating or something.
I can't remember, but I remember someone telling me that there were spots with cool views of the water or something.:confused3

there is outdoor and indoor seating and yes the outdoor seating is by the water...when you make your ps tell them you want outdoor seating.:goodvibes

Yes, there is outdoor seating, but you don't have to have a PS to sit outside. You just let them know when you get there. It's a nice view of Paradise Pier.

Just another tip for Ariels -- if you are doing the autograph thing (all the princesses had great signatures) -- have the autograph books open and pens uncapped and cameras ready to go. When we were there -- it was really busy and they want to keep the Princesses moving. So we made sure our girls were sitting on the outside of our booth (closest to where the princesses would be standing) and we had everything ready to go. Our girls just loved it! They got paper crowns and an Ariel's Grotto button pin and they take home the buckets that the kids meals come in. In the restaurant there is an underwater scene with "Ariels Grotto" at the top that makes for a cute picture. Some little girls were in costumes, others aren't. It was totally worth the extra $$!

We sat inside, and I would personally request that whenever I go. We got so much more time with the princesses inside. We were the first table on their circuit and we ended up getting double duty, they came by our table twice. They were fresh and happy. As they got through the inside, I noticed them being more hurried outside and since it's "less formal" outside, the kids seemed to get up out of their chairs and swarm the princesses as soon as they exited the doors.

So this is the big princess lunch at Disneyland? Great I'll have to book it. We did the Norway Princess Lunch at Epcot and Loved it! So I wont pass this one up! Thanks for the help I was trying to find out which was the princess lunch.

We had PS but the place was not very full for dinner. It was great, and DD had a wonderful time posing with the princesses.

Thank you for your great tips! We are going April with 3 Princesses of our own, 5, almost 5, and 4. This will be everyone's first trip. This is our only Character Meal we will be doing. As far as AutoGraph books, is this something you purchased? Or is this something you brought. And if you bought it from home, was it a Disney Themed Book?? Thank you for your tips. I think I am going to bring their Disney Princess Outfits just for the lunch!

We went to Ariel's Grotto for lunch in December and even though my DD is 21 and my DS is 17, they were good sports about going and having their pictures taken with the princesses! :) (I'm sure my DS especially enjoyed having his picture taken with all of those beautiful princesses, although he wouldn't admit it! ) The adult lunch was a set price ( in the $20 range, but can't remember exactly) and included an appetizer, main course, dessert and refillable beverage. We thought it was a great deal and the food was good. I would definitely recommend Ariel's Grotto for your little girl! :cloud9:

The format at Ariel's is pretty identical to Norway. The princesses all circulate to each table. The good news for my family is that Ariel's does not serve Norweigan food!

I enjoy sitting outside at night, the lights are so pretty. I agree that outdoors can get a bit more hectic but the cm's will intervene if kids get too rowdy (have seen that happen more than once). One thing I will say about sitting outside. Don't do it if your ps is near sunset! The sun will be right in the eyes of anyone facing the PP area and its intense! After dark its lovely however. During the day its nice and shady. But its not air conditioned so if you really need that, sit inside.
