I'm planning a mother/daughter trip for next March. I know we will have to do one meal at Ariel's Grotto so we can see all the princesses. (My dd is 6).

Question: Which is a better time to go? Late breakfast? lunch? or Dinner?

Thanks :thumbsup2

I would suggest lunch - there is a fixed menu - the same items come with lunch and dinner. You will be paying more for the dinner but your food really won't be any different. This is a great way to see all of the princesses - once we started eating here we stopped going to Princess Fantasy Fair. Hope she has a wonderful B-day.

We are going in a few weeks, I called to schedule dinner but the last sitting was 3:30, so that might be a consideration depending on DCA's hours when you go. We switched gears to do lunch at 1, I think the kids will be more awake and less overstimulated at that time anyhow. :lovestruc

FWIW, I believe the price is the same for lunch or dinner. We pay the same, anyway, but that's with pre-purchased vouchers. Here is one site that sells them (scroll down towards the bottom) http://hotels.anaheimoc.org/1282_attraction-tickets_a18.html?ticketID=587. Getawaytoday and AAA also sell them, and I'm sure there are others (in addition to disneyland.com).

We prefer the dinner, but it's just a personal preference. I like the feel of evening in the park, my girls like to get dressed up in princess outfits and it's like going to the ball princess: (see signature pic below). I like the feel with the beautiful glass undersea chandeliers on. If you go early, you can enjoy the sunset (though it can be right in your eyes if you're sitting in the wrong spot). We generally rest a while at the hotel, get dressed for the dinner and head to CA. I bring a backpack with street clothes in it and the girls change in the restaurant bathroom after dinner. Much easier than going back to the room or trying to spend more time in the parks in princess clothes.

We did a 12:50 seating. We stayed at GCH, so after our morning in the parks, we went back to the hotel and DD changed into her princess dress. Right after the lunch, we went back to the hotel to nap, so we had no issue with touring the park in her dress.

I don't know what time the parks will open during your trip. They opened at 10 for us, so we had about 2 hours in the parks before we headed back to the hotel to freshen up for lunch.

I really like doing breakfast..we've done it twice. Eveyone is fresh, the park is empty when you arrive, the Princess dress is clean and still comfortable on the little girls. :) I like the assortment..served family style, they first bring out a tiered plate thing with lots of cheese, fruit, pastries. Then they bring a platter of potatoes, eggs, bacon and sausage. Juices and drinks also, of course. You can ask for more food if you need it. Very pleasant expereince :)

Does anyone know how late they serve breakfast? We are going in Mid-march (Spring Break) - from what I can tell, the parks will be opening early.
I was thinking maybe we could do parks for a few hours then have a late breakfast.... or I like the idea of resting in the afternoon and then going back for dinner. decisions, decisions....

just curious - can we have lunch at Ariel's Grotto if we are only planning to get DL tickets? Do I have to do parkhopper just so we can go for lunch?

We ate for the first sitting of lunch. DD was just 6 and tires easily. That way she was fresh and coud enjoy the day being a Princess.

You need to have entrance tickets to DCA to be able to dine at Ariel's Grotto.

You need a ticket for DCA to eat at Ariel's. They point this out several times when you make the reservation.

If you have more than a one day ticket, you will have the park hopper otion. WDW makes you choose whether or not you wna tht eoption. It comes automatically with a multi day pass :thumbsup2
