Ariel's Grotto Food

I was there last week and I did not get the impression they would bring additional food - except for the sourdough rolls. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with the food - it wasn't bad, but not such a good value. We only went to see the princesses. Again, the food was not bad, but not a great value for the price.

Since they added desserts we have never finished our meals it is a lot of food!

Overall we always find the food very good for the amount and price. But we did find certain things better then others. Since I am veggy I always do the pasta. But have heard nothing but good things from friends and family about the Fish and Chips, the Meatloaf, the Pot Pie and the salmon sadnwhich.

And as far as I am concerned the apple dessert is the best. YUMMY!

I don't think you can get more food, unless of course you want to pay another $20! Don't bother, go somewhere else after you are done and get something good!

I know I am in the minority here, but my family and I think the food there is terrible! We've done it three times and will never do it again! I had the fish and chips once and that was just awful! It was greasy and tasted bad. I had the pasta once and it was cold and crunchy and I don't think pasta is supposed to be crunchy. The last time I had the meatloaf and it was unedible (is that the right word??). My cousin once had the pot pie and the biscuit on top was hard as a rock.

The only good thing any of us have had there is the chicken soup!

I've read the price is $27.25 now. That's a lot of mullah for supposedly smaller portions than before, hmm???

Our portions were the same as you could expect at a Fuddruckers, Applebees, Chilis, Red Robin... etc.

They are by no means overly large helpings but they do give you a good meal for your money.

My suggestion would be to enjoy your meal and then if you are hungry afterwards grab a corndog, churro, or other delicious snack from a street vendor.

The portions are large enough that you probably won't want seconds, especially when you consider that you get bread, soup or salad, main course, and dessert. Drink refills are free.

I don't think the food is worth what you pay for. It used to be really good, but it has gone way down hill recently. The last time we were there, I had the salmon BLT, and the salmon was really dry and gross. The fish and chips are the same fish and chips that you can get elsewhere in the park. The shrimp cobb salad is not bad, but it is not worth $30. I haven't tried the other stuff, so I'm not sure.

The food there is not horrible but it is not great! We have been there a few times and go for the princcess basically, the food is great for the kids and they have a lot of fun dancing around! But for adults it lacks a lot!

Our portions were quite large but our whole family thought the food was terrible! We are not going back there on our next trip.

Well I agree with you if that helps. When we had dinner there, we of course, were waiting for the princesses. We had ordered our dinner and the princesses came by one after another a short time later. After they all made a stop at our table, which took about 1/2 hour, start to finish, the waiter asked me if we cared for dessert. I said, well we haven't even had our meal yet. He looked confused and then went sort of pale. Apparently, he forgot us and our dinners had been sitting under warming lamps for quite some time. Basically, it was pretty inedible. I also had the meatloaf which was terrible and my daughter had the frankencheesie which was cut to look like an octupus. Of course, that poor thing was drier than dirt. It really was a horrible meal and I told the waiter it was pretty bad. He brought my daughter a birthday bucket (it was her birthday) and gave us a free dessert as an apology. Apparently, those princesses are quite distracting. He forgot all about us. I was pretty disappointed.

I'm pretty sure I won't go back.

I usually ask the server what they would recommend since they know their food better than I do. I was told to pick the burger and it was the best burger I've ever had at DL. I find that if I follow the server's suggestions, I do pretty well. Plus, they have a real interest in knowing whether I enjoyed their suggestion or not, so I have received pretty good service.

Sounds like a good idea:)

Just keep in mind also that you are really paying for the character interaction. To me, the food was so-so. But my girls absolutely *loved* getting pictures and autographs with all of the princesses. They love to get out their autograph books and look at them. My girls barely touched their meals, but oh well . . . it was woth the $$ for them to have a magical experience with the princesses! princess:
