Ariel's Grotto 101

Myself, my mom and my mother-in-law took my 4 year old daughter there and I absolutely loved it!! DO IT! It was great. First around 10 we took her to the princess boutique to be made up like a princess. It was so cute! Afterwards we walked around a bit and then headed over for our 12:50 lunch appt. The whole DLR staff must be trained to say hello to your princess when she is made up because she got so many comments and everyone always called her princess. She loved it!! The rest. was great too! I got the fish and everyone else got the steak including my daughter and it was all do good! It was worth the money for me to see my daughter have her special time and be treated like a princess! Even the servers will ask what the princess would like and is the princess all done? It was very cute!

When I went i made my reservation on the same day a few hours before. It was a slow day though. Also it was just 2 of us :cutie:

Like everyone says you walk down the stairs and take pictures with Ariel. I didn't have a camera so I wasn't able to get that shot..I was hoping I could get it on my photopass but nope :headache:
The photog came later offering i forget $40? for the package of the prints but ah I couldn't afford it!

The price for the meal includes three courses, Appetizer, Entree and Dessert :)

Here's the shots I got of my cousin with the princesses

They do a small show/dance with the kids :)

I got some pasta, don't remember the name but I think that was all they had pasta wise. It was so delicious, I recommend it! :lovestruc

Here's the dessert, the ariel and the shell are chocolate :)

Sorry for the low quality >< I only had my cell as it was my cousin's last minute birthday present from me

So what about sitting inside vs. outside?

I had to change a reservation to add one more person and we had to move outside, I don't know if I'm thrilled about it. Any opinions either way?

I've only had breakfast there so I can't speak for the other meals, but I'll let you know why I picked that meal twice. It gave us enough time to head into DL get a locker, grab a fastpass (we were going to spend the day in DL anyways), and do whatever else. Then the rest of our day was 'free' without having to watch the clock. Also we were the most 'fresh' and so where the princesses. I know I don't look as good after 16 or so hours in the park.

Its true that we lost the less crowded morning DL hours but, it was one day in many. It was also with another adult so we didn't have to factor in any children accommodations, so there is my caveat. It was also predicted to rain later in the day (never did) so I was hoping to beat any adverse weather.

Here are a few more pics.

My two cents: We did not really care for the food, but we were also paying for the experience of the princesses so it was still worth it to us. The Cinderella we had was amazing. She did the best job with the interaction and spent the most time with my kids. She could not wrap her head around the idea of an airplane and wondered where their horse and carriage was parked. It was very cute. :lovestruc

I am also wondering about the inside seating vs. outside. I just made a reservation for the WOC dining package at Ariel's. It will be June 19 at 5:20 pm. I thought it'd be nice to sit outside with a view of the water, but then realized that CA can be HOT in June! :rotfl: (being from OR, June is usually mild)

Oh, also, I have two boys who are not into princesses :rotfl2: We made the reservation mainly to get the WOC tickets, but I'm excited for the dinner too.

So, what are some opinions on indoor or outdoor?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

According to:
mousepad.mouseplanet.com/blog.php?b=692
the Ariel's Grotto meal is NOT a meal with the princesses....
I was hoping it would be so we could do it with the characters,
but it looks like it is a separate thing altogether.:sad2:

The WoC dinner is a non-Character dinner. My reservation CM specifically confirmed with me that it was a non-Princess (character) meal.

My granddaughter loves the princesses. I took her to the Ariel's Grotto meal when she was three years old. I had been telling her over and over that these princesses were "real," not dolls or a movie. When that first princess came out and my granddaughter turned and saw her...well I can tell you that I will remember the look on her face until my dying day. It was worth every penny I spent, and more.
