Ariel's Disney Princess Celebration

Is it any good? We have never caught this at DCA. Is it worth the money? I tried to do a search for it on the boards, but no luck.

Ariel's Grotto is a character meal actually. I'm thinking you weren't able to find it in the boards because of the name. ( I know that there's a character meal that has a similar name in DW) Never been but always wanted to.. You'll get better feedback from other posters.

There's also Princess Fantasy Faire in DLR, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean...

I thought the lunch was well worth it---but it depends on whether you are a princess fan or not. Lunch was about $30 for a grown-up, 3-9 year olds around $12, under that is free. We had each princess come over to our table and do pictures and hugs, spent about 2-3 minutes each, and we had five princesses: Mulan, Ariel, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. The food was okay (mine was the meatloaf, the worst, others with me had burgers, reported to be decent, dessert was good). If it offends you to pay $30 for a hamburger, salad, drink and dessert, then this isn't for you---but if you or your kids love the princesses, this is a good time to get some one on one.

It's super cute! And I loved the atomosphere inside.. Food was okay. If you have little girls it's a must!

When you walk in you take a picture with ariel in her beautiful dress... When I was there in Sept. We had Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White

I love this character meal. Well, not the meal but the interaction with the princesses. The meal was fine, not bad but not amazing. We sat outside and it was lovely. The character attendant was very fun and took lots of pictures for our group, it seemed to be a quiet time at the restaurant . We felt like we had extra time with the characters. Belle, Snow White, Ariel, and Aurora came to our table. Ariel poured salt in my water so it was "sea water". I would certainly recommend it for any princess fan.

We went in Nov for Thanksgiving weekend with our dd (5yrs) and she had a blast. The food was ok, nothing special that time around. However, I think the sweet treats were my fav by far. mmmmmmm

We had Snow White, Cindy, Fairy Godmother, Mary Poppins. They told us Belle and Princess Minnie were going to be there when we were waiting and ten minutes later they switched it up on us.. My dd was NOT happy about that , she really wanted to see Belle.

Just remember it is crazy loud in there. But very fun for the little Princesses

I ate there for the first time last week. I've never paid so much for bad boring unseasoned food. On the hand, the princess interaction was very good. Go, but don't expect much of the food. We saw Ariel, Cinderella, Belle (in yellow ballgown), Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White.

Try to get ressies for the breakfast- yummy food and great interaction. Lunch and dinner we found the food to be awful in our opinions. You may want to call Disney Dining as I don't think the breakfast is listed as it is new. Good Luck!

I like to think of it like this.... DGD's princess gown $30.00, lunch with the princesses for 4 $100.00+, DGD's face when hugging Belle.... PRICELESS.

Time = money
Time spent in line at PFFT with no guarantee of which princess you will actually see = way too much money.

I'm giving breakfast at Ariel's a try on my next trip. I'll decide then which one is the better deal.

You know that is a tough one. because we had lunch at Ariel's our first day, with Snow White, Cindy and Mary and the godmother...the next day of our trip we hit PFF and there was Cindy and Snow White again along with SLeeping Beauty.

But you dont know for either one, I guess.

Thanks for the information on the breakfast - it was not listed at Disneyland site yesterday! Dd loves the princesses, and her room is all DP and forest friends theme. She especially loves Snow White, so we don't want to miss any interaction with her.

I kinda think along these lines too only in the sense that apparently the Princesses dont come and do the meet and greet thing infront of the castle anymore. You have to go to Princess Fantasy Fair for that or Ariels Grotto. Occasionally you will see on in the Hollywood backlot in DCA but thats not a garuntee. So basically to see a all the princess you want you have to pay for it. I would rather take the kids to Ariels for a lunch where they and you can interact with the princesses, insted of paying for dresses, hair, and all else for your child to spend a few minutes with the princess. In my opinion ariels would be better and most likely cheaper if you have multiple children.

yeah I was a little bummed that they dont havethe Princesses in front of the castle anymore. BUT I also like that there are three Princesses at PFF and you dont have to wait in three different lines.

then the little ceremony they do to "teach" you how to be a Princess is great. My dd loved that! Snow White came to take her hand and walked with her because she was to nervous to be around all the other kids during the pole thinger (she has Autism) It was awesome. It happened so quickly, my picture is blurry. But that is one of the best pictures I took.

I totally know what your saying... I know you have the option at PFF to purchase the dresses and the hair thing etc, and the show itself is really adorable. I was just implying that purchasing items for the kids gets really costly after awhile especially if you have a couple kids and want to give them the royal treatment.

How great for your daughter to have Snow White come up and take her hand. That must have been a dream for you both. I am so happy to hear you got picture of it. Characters are really well trained with kids of all types. My cousin has autism as well and when my aunt took him to DL when he was 7 and she showd me footage of Buzz Light year spending a good 10 minutes on the ground playing with my cousin it was so cute, especially since Buzz is his idol!
