ARGHHH!! Ding! is going backward!!!

I've been waiting & waiting for what seems like FOREVER for SW to extend the Ding! travel dates past Nov. 17, so I can purchase tix for our Nov. 25-Dec. 4 trip & today they moved the dates back to Oct. 31. ARGHHHH!!!!!

SW do you not realize how frustrating this is to compulsive planners!!!!????

Guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

No, it isn't. Today's DING was the first time they rolled out the version that only targets what you specified as your home airport. The dates each person gets may depend on how capacity is running at your home airport; if they need to fill sooner flights, they will put those up first.

Thanks for the info. I checked & the rates are only $4 lower than they were yesterday. Still too high.

This morning's Ding! didn't have ANY offers for my "home airport."

Article in USAToday on August 15th that explained the "custom" option for Ding. Southwest is testing this, and yesterday was the first test run:

Check the regular reservations. My were cheaper than the Ding fares.

so far the regular reservation price is $85 each way so this is prohibitively expensive for 6 tickets. hopefully they will extend the travel dates on their specials past Nov. 17 soon.

We are flying down from midway in Chicago to MCO 11/22 to 12/4 $49 each way for 4people. I booked july 27. I just checked the website by chance that day and booked the tickets.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. $170 r/t is a bargin during that time of the year, which is Thanksgiving Giving weekend, one of the busiest travel periods of the year. You may be able to find a bargin fare for the 4 December, but if you can get an $85 fare for 25 November...that's a bargain for that day.

actually we have been going this time of year for the past four or five years & it is usually $68 roundtrip. however, SW has usually not waited so long to post deals. i don't know what the hangup on nov. 17 is but i really wish they would move on.
