My boss sent me a Christmas gift to my house, and when I hadn't thanked him for it a couple days after Christmas, he suspected somthing was up and asked if I had gotten it. (A Godiva gift basket)
I told him no, and he tracked it, and it was showing delivered. He verified my address and asked if I thought one of my neighbors might have taken it--aboslutely not--my neighbors are SUPER!
Well, I just had a woman on a bicycle ring my bell...hmmm...
She asked if I was missing a package, and I said yes. Long story short, her cousins have a home one street over with the same numerical address. They moved out about three months ago, but haven't put it on the market yet, and she keeps an eye on it. She's been gone over the holidays and just stopped over to check on it, and saw the packaged with my name and address on it. It's been sitting there for almost two weeks now, because I remember seeing it on thier doorstep and thinking it was weird that anything would be delivered there because those people have moved.
Now I need to go over and get it, and let my boss know what happened. What a PITA. And I'm going to call Fed Ex or UPS (not sure which was delivering it) and let them know about thier screw up and make them deal with it if it's damaged--which it might be due to the terrible rain we had on Christmas when it was jsut sitting there.
I could understand if our street names were similar, but they are entirely different. And they are "drive" and mine is "lane." Morons.

Hope the gift is salvageable.
It was sent US postal and I am pretty sure she didn't insure it. I haven't told her yet, she going to be upset.
