We leave for wdw in a week :hyper: (fist time staying onsite) and are on the dining plan, so far we have not made any ARs and since it will be just me and DH we thought we would just wing it for booking tables.

Now we are so close though I am really starting to panic that everything will be booked out... :scared1:

so do you think we will be okay or do you think I should phone ASAP and make ressies?

PS we are staying at ASMO can we book tables at the reception there or do we still have to phone disney cro

You can book from your room by using the disney dining button (on your phone), I think you get charged for the phone call though. You can also book at guest services area near front desk/check in area. As long as you are flexible you don't need to book, if there are places you really want to eat at..I would book.

I would book the ADR. Restaurants are busier than they usually are, because of the "free dining" promotion.

All of the restaurants that I have contacted that are currently booked up for us, party of 3, said that they did have room for a party of two. I think since it is just you and your husband will will have much more flexability in getting the ADRs that you want, even last moment.

I agree with webray, if you really truly want to eat somewhere, book before you go - if you're flexible, book it that day
a couple of tips - you can book it from the phone in your room, your hotel's front desk/guest services/concierge desk, guest services at the parks, any table service podium, or any pay phone (by pressing *55, I believe, or it's *88...) - also, if you do walk up to your restaurant of choice and ask to be seated, you may be turned away and be told they are booked, but if you call WDW-DINE, you may be able to make an ADR, for as little as 10 minutes from then (or there may not be any availability, or not until later)

It will depend on where you want to eat. If you have your heart set on a Princess Character breakfast, chances are you will not be able to get it. Other places that go quickly will be California Grill, 'Ohana, and Le Cellier.

if you are usuing the free dining i would definetly book so you don't get stuck eating at counter all the time and having ts meals left. however you might be able to get lunches easier and use the cs for dinner but i would still book ahead

thanks to all your advice we have now booked the hoop de doo for friday 9th and chef mickeys breakfast for saturday :cheer2: 10th

We have the Hoop-dee-doo booked too but for Sept 11. We did it last year and DD12 loved it. Hoping Dbf will love it too. He enjoys being goofy so I figured it was right up his alley. I love Chef Mickey's for breakfast too but I'm the only one that wants to do breakfast, DD12 is not a breakfast person. If I can get her to eat a bagel or toast I am happy.

We just got back yesterday. From trying to change an ADR time to overhearing CM's talking with others, it was said that "everywhere" was "booked solid." HOWEVER, "parties of 2" that walked in behind us with no ADR were seated almost right away at a few places. So don't despair! As my husband and I said on the way home, "we missed something? Oh, well! More reason to start planning our next vacation!" :flower:

I would book some ASAP! My DH and I were in WDW from 8/12-8/29 and whille we had many ADR's in place ( 90 days out) on the nights we didn't have one because we wanted some spontaneity in our vacation, it was difficult to find places because of the free dining plan. It was frustrating! My advice for a stress-free vacation would be to try and book what you can in advance and what you can't do, you'll have to try walking up the the restaurant you want and putting your name on the waiting list. Good luck and enjoy your trip! :flower:

We just came back Sunday and when we wanted to change a couple of times and places we had ressie's for and they were completely booked up. Could not make any changes!!!
