Area closest to WDW?

Hi, I'm trying to book a hotel on hotwire/priceline. Hotwire gives me the following areas:

Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney
SeaWorld - I-drive South
Disney Main Gate - Celebration
Universal Orlando - I-drive
Orlando Airport West ...
Orlando Airport West - Florida Mall Area
Kissimmee
Orlando Intl Airport ...
Downtown Orlando
West of Disney
Altamonte Springs

Which of the above areas would you suggest if I want to be closest to WDW? Lake Buena Vista, perhaps? Pls let me know of atleast 3-4 areas.

Lake Buena Vista is definately the closest - we stayed at the Sheraton Safari there a couple of years ago and walked into Downtown Disney quite often.

Celebration is also really close.

I'll tell you two and someone else that's more familiar with the Priceline areas may be able to add to it. Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney would be the closest and maybe nicest, then Disney Main Gate - Celebration next closest. I'm very familiar with the Disney area but I just don't know how far some of the Priceline areas extend. I would maybe pick West of Disney and Sea World - I Drive South for the next two.

As the PP said, Downtown Disney is closest. But it looks like the Hotwire area for Lake Buena Vista is much bigger than just DTD, so you might end up further away than the area that the PP was talking about.

The SeaWorld-I-Drive South area is also fairly close (looks to run from the Convention Center area south to SeaWorld and down I-Drive) with most of the hotels likely to be in the Convention Center area.

The Main Gate/Celebration area looks like it's huge with some hotels near the Main Gate entrance or the Sherberth Road entrance in Kissimmee and some over in Celebration (which is much further away on a relative basis).

Most of the other areas that you mentioned are quite a distance from Disney (Airport areas, Altamonte Springs, Downtown Orlando, West of Disney - looks like Route 27 in Davenport - are all quite a distance from Disney though some are easily driveable).

In order, from closest to farthest:
LBV - DD
Main Gate
Davenport (Omni and Champion's Gate)
Sea World, Florida Mall, and west of Dis are about a wash
Kissimmee
OIA
Orlando
Altamonte Springs

Anything beyond Kissimmee on the list likely will not have a Disney shuttle bus. Be careful choosing Kissimmee, you could end up 20 minutes away. It's a big zone. LBV has the better quality hotels. Main Gate hotels are more of a 'meat market' variety, older and smaller.

Plus, some LBV hotels are walking distance to Downtown Disney.

would put west of Disney 3rd - that is the Kissimmee area closes to WDW.
