due to the 50 year celebration?

What made you decide to come to the Disneyland Resort in 2005?

:cool1: will be in Disneyland July 26-29

what made us come out this year: :boat: The Disney Magic!

Yes, we'll be visiting for the first time in 2005, July 2 - July 5. We decided to come out, becasue we're also taking the West Coast Magic on 7/9/05, so it worked out to see Southern California.

We are visiting Disneyland (and California) for the first time June 12-18th. We have made 3 trips to Disney World in the last 4 years and love it!!!!

Thanks to some free airline tickets, we will finally get to head west. We would have come even if it wasn't the 50 year celebration but that is just going to make it more special :cheer2:

We are coming out to the West Coast because we have been to WDW for 13 of the last 14 years (we took one year off for the Disney Cruise) and don't want to miss the magic. This way the kids get something old and something new all at the same time!

Not our first trip, but we are coming out twice in 2005. Feb for Chip & Dale pin event, and July for NFFC Converntion and will stay for the following week to be there on July 17th.

I'm seriously considering going (nov or dec). First off, I've been to WDW 3 times in the past 3 years and have loved every minute of it but think I want a little something different. I figure that its been almost 17 years since I last went to DL. I recall having a blast there and I recall some of the differences between DL and MK but recollection is beginning to slip a bit so I figure no better time to enjoy DL than during 50 year celebration. Additionally, I only intend on spending a total of 3 days at the parks and then the rest of my time there touring LA/Hollywood, etc. This way I get a little bit of Disney as well as a seperate non Disney vacation. Like another poster stated a bit of old/new at the same time.

We're coming over from UK in August. We usually go to WDW every year but the past couple of years have found the humidity just too uncomfortable so thought we'd try California - just lucky that we get the 50th celebrations too.

WDW vets taking the Disneyland plunge ...
We are going for our first time in late June.
We wanted to go in early June, but our church's VBS and Mission Trips conflicted with our original dates.
We decided to go this year because of the 50th anniversary and the age of our oldest child.
Our DS10 is a Lego Maniac and he received a membership to the Lego Master Builders' Club for his birthday.
One of the contents of the membership package was a child's ticket to LegoLand.
He still loves Legos, but I'm afraid that won't last too much longer.
I've never travelled west of the Mississippi and have always wanted to.
My kids watch the Disney Sing-a-Long tape from DL and they always ask questions like:
Why aren't the teacups under cover?
What's that ride Roger Rabbit is on?
So, it would be great for them to actually see it all for real!
We plan on doing a Disney Cruise in 2007 (last year our oldest still can be book at a "child" rate),
so doing this trip now gives us 2 more years to save for that one!
I check this board daily and am constantly adding more notes to my binder.
Thanks to everyone for all the great tips and information!
My husband says it's going to be a long 5 months!

DW and I will be there from August 7 to August 13in GCH. 5 full days so not to feel rushed with the crowds.

My best friend and I are headed there in Sept for her birthday, we have wanted to go for a while, but decided to coincide her birthday with the 50th anniversary, and we can't wait!! WOOHOO!! 255 days to go, is it Sept yet?? LOL!

I thought we wouldn't be going until Oct. or Nov. but we talked our friends into going in April. I know we will miss the festivities for the 50th by going early...but that just gives me a reason to go back again within the next 18 months!

We're going in August. DH, kids and I have never been out West. We love WDW and had been thinking of making our first voyage out West for the 50th celebration. Then DCL rumors started flying. On May 5th (last year) we were able to book the East bound Magic Panama Canal cruise at a GREAT price. So, we're in!!

I cannot wait.

Jess

I am! But it's not for the 50th....we'll be there Jan 29 - Feb 2! We have to travel to CA to see a doctor, so we figured we'd make it a FUN trip and check out Disneyland too!!

We will be there before the 50th in April. Our decision was a geography thing. We lived in FL for the past 5 years and went to WDW quite a bit. Well we now live in Utah so driving to DLR is much more cost effective. We would have prolly visited at some point anyway...but since we live closer now we chose to go.

Im another one visiting DL for the first time due to the Magic moving out there. We will be at the Disneyland Hotel from 8/9-8/13, before our 8/13 cruise.
Ive never been further west than Rochester NY, so this should be an adventure, LOL! :cool1:

I am hopefully planning a return trip to the states in September, depends on money.

The plan is to fly into LA do Disneyland, then Las Vegas, San Francisco then fly to New York where I will spend my 30th Birthday.

So if the plan works then yes this will be my first trip to Disneyland. We did WDW in November 2003

Yes, in March. We won't catch the 50th celebration, but I'm not too disappointed. I'm just happy to be going farther west than Ohio finally in my 40th year of life. :flower1:
