Are you superstitious?

anyone ever see this musical? one of the major plot twists was the "shoes on the table" superstition.

I used to own a black cat. he was a terror, he was fine when he was an "only" but later, when I had other kitties, he was awful.

mirrors, umbrellas and Friday the 13th don't bother me. I step on the cracks in the sidewalk and my mother is just fine, thanks for asking.

but I do throw salt over my shoulder. and I have been known to use red ribbons (I tied one to the rear veiw mirror of my new car, and pinned one to my baby's undershirt), which my very superstitious grandmother told me is to ward off the evil eye.

I absolutely, emphatically do not believe in superstition. But I do toss salt over my shoulder if I spill some...why tempt fate?

We own a black cat so she crosses my path all the time. That doesn't bother me. Luckily it doesn't rain IN my house so I never have to open an umbrella inside. I don't like umbrellas, anyway, and rarely use one OUTSIDE.

I am afraid of the #13. Especially on airplanes. I will NEVER sit in row 13. But I have never had a bad experience with Friday the 13th.

MIL used to tell DH you will die if you pull the leaves off a magnolia tree. Once she saw a neighbor plucking a few leaves, and the lady died very shortly thereafter. She made sure to point that out to DH, though it might have just been to keep him from messing with the tree.

In general I don't walk under ladders or step on cracks. It has been a long time since I broke a mirror, but I can't say that I believe it causes long term bad luck! I do throw salt over my shoulder if I spill it.
