Are you scared of bugs?

I had to take something to our front office today. The girl I was there to see was acting kinda strange. She was standing a few feet behind her desk. I asked her what was wrong. I saw a panicky look in her eyes. She said "tttthhhheerrrreee''ssss aaaa buuuuggg uuunnnddeerrr mmmmyyy ddeeessskkk!" I laughed, got a kleenex, showed her I had it secure then went and disposed of it (according to Nemo, it went to the ocean). I had to try hard not to lmbo at her. She reminded me of my dd-my dd is scared of bugs too.

I think I'll have a new job title now: Shannon, Exterminator.

I am not scared of bugs, I would have been like you. Except I would not be trying to kill it, I would be trying to get it on a piece of paper or something and gently place it outside in a grassy area. But that's just me.

Though, had it been a frog, I would have been like the girl in the office!

I am not afraid, but most gross me out (esp. roaches, june bugs and grass hoppers). I will however always get close enough to squish them. But just reading the title of your thread sent a shiver down my spine. I've had june bugs and grasshoppers get caught in my clothes and hair and that just creeps me out!

DH worked in an inner city ER for 5 years and he was always telling me about having to remove roaches from ears and stuff - YUCK!!

I am scared of rats, tall and/or big men, and I guess dis'ers too (I don't think y'all really exist, I think I have a good imagination).

Aurora63, I just let the little critter take a swim. He was about as long as my little finger though.

It depends on what they are. If they're the ickity stickity kind and they're on me, or close to getting on me, then I'll probably let out a scream and run away like I did Saturday when Will laughed his butt off at me.

But -- I love butterflies, fireflies, lady bugs, praying mantis, walking sticks, dragonflies, grass bugs, skeeter bugs. I just don't like the gross kind. Bah!

But -- I won't kill them either, too gross. I'll just run away.

All right, I just let the dog outside and what came flying in? A JUNE BUG! Now the stupid thing won't stop flying around long enough for me to kill it! Maybe the dog will eat when he comes back in.

Spiders are the kind that bug me. I can't stand them and I always need someone else to kill em. I hate all other bugs because they just gross me out. Especially those stupid mosquitos!!! Yet they love me.

nah bugs never really scared me even when i was little. I never liked killing them though. I always feel kinda bad. Though recently, there was this huge one with like 20 legs crawling up my leg. It kinda caught me off guard and i think i must have screamed like a 7yr old girl lol.

I hate bugs, and yes am scared of them. Another reason to hate summer - most of the little annoying things are trying to come visit me when its warm out. I was very proud of my DD (she's 20 months) though...yesterday she saw a big spider on her toy and pointed to it for me to get rid of. I've gotten braver since she's around but if DH is there, I still make him get rid of them. Bees/wasps however are another story....I'll run the second I hear a buzzing sound.

Most dont necessarily 'scare' me, they just gross me out. The one I'll run from though is a centipede, those nasty little things that look like giant running eyelashes, ewwww. They just move too fast and too unnaturally, bleh!!

Years ago I had a similar situation as you, Shannon.....I worked for a contractor, in his home. The office was built into the garage. His wife called me, paralyzed in fear one day....she had a chipmonk running around that her cat had brought in. By the look on her face you'd have thought Godzilla was in her bathroom, LOL!! She was sitting up on her kitchen counter, legs drawn up, cowering!! I simply took a small box and placed it over the little guy, slid a piece of cardboard underneath, turned it rightside up and let the little guy go back outside

I never was afraid of bugs till I got a bad spider bite on my foot. My whole foot swelled up, turned bright red and purple, and felt like it was on fire for about a week. Thankfully, antibiotics returned it back to normal. Now I freak when I see a spider! I agree Junebugs are gross!

I'm terrified of spiders and centipedes!

And anything to do with flies and maggots makes me sick to my stomach - dirty yucky things.

No, I'm generally not afraid of bugs but I am of spiders, except the Daddy Longlegs ones, those I don't mind at all, but the fuzzy black ones and the ones with the dot in their middle I just can't stand, they give me the willies. My DD has always been afraid of "anything that flies and buzzes", even plain old houseflies. She'll be 25 in October and buzzy things still bother her.

Maggots make me disgusted and I don't like worms very much. Other than those, keep me away from lizards, frogs, toads, bats, and birds flying loose.
