Are you satisfied with your DVC purchase?

My family is extremely happy about purchasing DVC in '95. We have 6 add on contracts and do more with DVC than we could have ever done on our own without the purchase.

Well thus far most of us are doing the happy dance! We bought in dec2001 VWL and added OKW through a resale in sept. We are so thrilled with DVC.

We were just looking at the room rates last night.I cannot believe what the rack rates for a moderate are up to now,peak season up to 194 a night! To do the vacations we did in the past before DVC and now with DVC would cost us a bundle today.

Best thing we ever did,only wish we would have purchased at its inception.

I guess you can say we are very satisfied, considering we started with 230 pts and now have 500 pts!

Routeman I agree. I wish I bought at inception, but I was newly married and even if I knew about, I probably would not have purchased, since we just bought a home.

We purchased our points for $58 with the free park passes. What a deal?

We have added six contracts since '95 and because of the DCL (being so great), we can use more points. We're over 600 now but would like to buy another 100. Maybe some day.

Has anyone tried HH? I've only been to BWV, OKW and Vero.

I agree. If you've added on you must be satisfied. Did you add-on to your original home or do you have several homes?

We added on once at OKW to give us 300 pts. Then this year we added 200 pts at VB to give us the 500 total. We like having 1 DVC on WDW property and 1 DVC ocean front, both with the same use yr(Sept).

We are very happy with our DVC purchase.... With over 800 points we better be!

We have been to OKW, BWV, HHI, and have used the Concierge Collection to stay at The Plaza..... something we would have never coughed up the 700 plus bucks a night to do.....

And now with our family of 4 turning into a family of 5...... we are even more grateful to be DVC owners...... So nice to have a two bedroom onsite option!! (or even off site at HHI and VB)

We're thinking of adding on with VB! We have most in OKW and some with BWV. But VB is the perfect place before and after the DCL. We enjoy the ocean and my DS6 loves the waterslide.

Hmmm, maybe with my bonus next year, I can suprise hubby and buy at VB. When does the rate go up to $84?

700 points leaves you many options! I once stayed at the Plaza about 10 years ago for NY's Eve. It was very nice, but the room was $350 (a discount off the cost of room, 'cause we went to their NY Eve party).

I heard that the Sagamore Inn is a great resort. Never tried anything but DVC owned resorts. I guess me and the family will need to branch out.

As a lot of people are gonna say, We wish we joined a lot earlier - Our purchase would have been paid off with the cash stays already. I dont regret all our Poly stays, we loved it and the monorail access made the stays with the kids (we started WDW trips with our DS on his 2nd birthday) sooo flexible to come and goto MK and Epcot several times a day when breaks were needed. But now with both kids at a more enduring level to stay at the parks much longer each visit, the room choises and ammendities at the DVC resorts add a new level of comfort for vacations while still having that magical Disney feel. We dont goto any of the surrounding parks every day of our trip stays, we love the resorts for what they have to offer and when we want to add a little fun we pick a day or two from the large amount of places to go. Florida is our main vacation spot, DVC is our accomodations, and Orlando is our entertainment - Yes, we are very happy with our purchase and add-on and look foward to many years of fun with our family!

The room we had for when were staying was 700dollars a night.... 55 points per night.... We had a suite.... it was HUGE......

Just wanted to make sure you didnt think we blew 700 points on our Plaza stay. LOL

When we went on the tour in 1992, I was the one completely opposed to joining, due to the outlay of money. It took a couple more years for me to realize that with what I had paid each year to stay in hotels that I could have paid for DVC. So in 1998 I went down to Disney with the intent of joining if I liked what I heard that time. Since that time I have purchaced two contracts, and two add-ons, and will soon take over a 3rd contract, bringing my total to 700 pts, and 3 of them are paid for. So am I happy with our purchases? You bet! My only regret is not buying at OKW when I had the chance.

I Loved it when I was still paying for it. Now that it's paid I can't believe that I get to keep coming back for the next 40 years for nothing but dues.

It's like living in your house for 40 years and only paying property taxes. Only better, cause it's Disney !!!!!!!!

My DH and I were talking about that very same thing..... We are close to paying off both our house and our DVC.... then nothing but propery taxes and dues for us........ Yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaawwwwww!!!!!!

Well I suppse there is airfare, and tickets, and food and such... but we can deal with that!

I have learned my lesson on these boards not to say anything negative about DVC, perhaps the person is also not fond of defending their opinion either.
