Are you kidding me??? The price of Universal's tickets has increased.

I stumbled on the price increase at Universal after going to Sea World and learning that their prices jumped from about $54 to $60 (59.75). A 2 day/2 park pass to Universal and Islands of Adventure is now 99.75 - plus you have to pay $2 for an e-ticket!

I really think I'm going to take Sea World and Universal's park off our itinerary. Disney's new prices for a 4-day base ticket come in well under $50 per day. I don't expect to make a return trip so to buy any other type of pass makes no sense for us.

One day UO ticket is the same price as one day WDW ticket, $59.75.
There are many muliti day deals and packages available but below are the rack rates from their respective websites.
Two day UO park hopper ticket is $50/day. (two day tickets have no expiry date, where as the four day WDW park hopper does.)
Four day WDW single park is $46.25 (park hopper ticket is $55/day.)
Five days park hopper at UO is only $24/day.

I think the prices are just as expensive at both parks. Walt want to keep you at his park. That is why the extra day of a multi-day ticket will be cheaper.

Thanks Dad. With the way you wrote it, it does seem pretty even between all of the theme parks. I was in sticker shock when I saw the one day prices, not realizing that the 2-day pass was saving nearly $10 per ticket for Universal. Sea World, I'm told, is still offering a 2nd day free, but I didn't plan for more than one day there.

thank WDW for the steep price increse, the other parks just follow along. I haven't dissected that whole magic your way deal, they didn't raise AP rates, so I'm happy. it just seems like another try to keep WDW guests from seeing the light of day outside their property. it's a smart move, of course.
