Oh Wise and Wonderful Disers......

What do you honestly think the chances are that we'll get free dining if I DON'T call first thing in the morning on Thursday.

This is what I would really really want....

Sept 14-20 @ Sports. (2 adults 2 kidlets)

On Thursday morning I will be driving my DS to a children's hospital 3 hours north of here..... I plan on trying to call from my cell.... but reception on that stretch of road is pretty hit or miss. I'm afraid I won't get a chance to call until Thursday evening..... and then I'm afraid all your hungry general public people will have beat me and taken the very last room! ugh!

Excuse the paranoia..... I'm so jealous of the Disney Visa people that I can't even see straight! :headache:

PS: I just read my whole post and realized how pathetic I sound. I could erase it..... but I think I'll take this opportunity to poke fun at myself.
Here I am.... driving my son up to a children's hospital..... and all I can think about is free dining! What kind of rotten mom am I anyway??? Seriously though.... my son has cerebral palsy and we have to drive up there very often to see his specialists..... it's not like I'm taking him there for brain surgery! So there... I feel a little better about sounding so pathetic!

Best wishes for your son's doctor visits.

If you can't get Sports, I imagine you could get one of the other value resorts. Either way, you'll be going to Disney with free dining :)

I think Sports is generally the last value to run out of free dining rooms. I know that when I wanted to switch to Pop from Movies last year, Sports was the only value consistently available for free dining when I called or check online. Hope that makes ya feel better!

I think you'll do just Fine not calling 1st thing.
The FD offer goes until June so I'm thinking they must
have plenty enough rooms alloted for this offer.
I hope everything goes well with the Hospital.:goodvibes

I agree that calling that night should not be an issue. I too think ASSp is one of the last to fill up.

Good luck with the doctor appt and the call! :flower3:

Well I booked Sports this morning and yes I do believe it will be one of the very last to fill up. But I think we will like it very well, being recently refurb and all. :dance3:

I think you'll be okay. 2 years ago I booked right at the last minute (i.e. June) and still got the value & dates I wanted. I would say that you'll be alright getting what you want, and if you don't try calling back within the next few weeks, they're bound to be changes/cancels and you might be able to pick up something.

Also, don't forget to book your dining reservations, I think good times for those will book quicker than the rooms.

As the others have said, hope everything goes well at the hospital and good luck with everything!

Try a TA and they will do it all for you. I can give you the name of a great one and shes a Dis'er

I know that's not a guarantee, but I think you will be okay. Do keep an open mind if you need to switch resorts to get the promo.

I think Disney is smart enough to have more rooms for the general public available. I know the discount is limited, but there would be too much bad PR if the Visa holders were the only ones to get rooms with FD.

I know there's no guarantee, but I think you'll be fine. Last year we didn't book until the end of April and got our first choice of dates and hotel. Not to mention all the ADRs we wanted. Good luck!:goodvibes

I think you'll be fine and best of all - you might save yourself an hour of sitting on hold. The whole time I was waiting this morning I kept telling myself that it was stupid - I could call in a few hours, book the exact same thing and not wait on hold, but I just couldn't help myself!!!:cutie:

Well, you are what you are.... A SUPERMOM, trying to take care of kids and budgeting a vacation, whats wrong with that? :rotfl2:
Seriously, you'll likely get what you want AND hope your dr visit goes smoothly! Best of luck!!

We went during free dining last year and I didn't call for reservations until June and still got All Star Music (Movies and Sports were also available). I don't think you have anything to worry about!

Ya'll are so kind! Thanks for the advice, tips and most of all.... the peace of mind.

I would be more concerned about the ADRs. I think a lot of people booked in anticipation of free dining and made their ADR's at the 180 day mark. I looked into changing my reservations from October to September to take advantage of the free dining but with losing my 40% discount on the room I really wasn't saving much (there are only 2 of us, 1 adult and 1 child) and I couldn't get the ADR times that I wanted (earliest I could get was 8 pm) and couldn't get into one place for the entire length of our stay. I ended up staying with my October time frame as the dates worked better for me.

I also booked on the last possible day in June 06 and was able to get the resort I wanted (also somehow managed to get lunch at CRT??), so I think you will be fine.

This year I have my ADR's booked already, but am planning to call Thursday for the room/package ressie.

It should be totally fine. There was wide spread panic on Monday for Visa holders and I was one of the crazys holding for an hour to change my ressie. When I came on here and read people waited until 2 p.m. and got through in less then 5 mins and had no problem with book their vacations.

Good luck at the doctor's with your child and have a great time at WDW with dining on them. :rotfl:
