I have to say that I don't care at all about any sort of celebrity romance, dating, marriage, divorce, etc. It just doens't matter to me one bit. I'm not the least bit interested. :confused3 Even when it's an actor or actress (or musician) that I really enjoy as a performer, I just don't care one bit about their personal life. Every time I see one of those threads that say "So and So is getting married"" or "So and So and So and So are splitting up!" it just puzzles me why anybody would care. I guess I'm just don't get it. Obviously, I'm in the minority because the magazine covers, etc. are filled with this sort of thing.

So, are you interested in that sort of thing? If so, why??

(Please understand that I'm not knocking anyone who is interested, it just isn't my cup of tea at all. I'm sure I have plenty of interests that nobody else would care about!)

I care. Sorta. It is just interesting to me and something to talk about. I guess it makes stars seem more human? It certainly isn't going to wreck my day of affect me in any way but I definately find celebrity culture interesting.

I'm just a pop culture junkie and that includes celebrity gossip.

I thought I was the only one who didn't care!

Not a bit. I could almost give a C*** what these overpayed crybabies do. I rank the vast majority of Hollywood "stars" and high-profile professional athletes as a bunch of coddled, spoiled brats. Hi, you play football in a community which can't afford basic schooling but it's fine to drive a $200,000 car? You get divorced and have to sell your 10,000 square foot vacation bungalo? Waaaaaaaa.

Now this may not thrill GEM :wave2: and right off I will appologise to her and hope this doesn't reflect on any of the people she knows through her campus and programs but... saying this as a person who earned a BFA in Theatre (though specializing in technical production) and a MFA following -- have you ever gone into an acting class and realized that for each person actually working to truly improve their craft, there were four absolute morons who were there so they could simply pretend they were someone else for a while? :sad2: Guess what, many of these morons now live in Hollywood... And now they have more money than anyone with their intelligence should have. Sure, they've definately got "the look," but they're not going to be finding a cure for cancer anytime soon ... and they think Uda Hagen was the inventor of a certain ice cream.

Add me to the don't care list. I always cringe when a celebrity break-up makes the news.

It's not that I care as much as it's just a curiousity factor.

One thing that always amuses me is when you hear people say so and so is a total hottie and if I were married to them I'd be so happy. And then you hear about so and so getting a divorce and I always think that proves looks aren't everything. When you are married to a person that half the U.S. is lusting over and you still can't stay together it really shows that while looks may attract a person, but if you have a crappy personality, it won't last long.

Just my little observation.

I'm not interested in anyone's romantic life, celebrity or not.

I feel bad when a couple that I really thought were good together split, but I am so sick of hearing about a half dozen celebrity couples. It is almost like they are the only celebrities. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.

I don't really care even though like anyone else I wish them well. What amuses me are the people who chat about the celebrities' personal lives and then slam them for being publicity hounds. Does anyone else see how strange that is?

I'll admit it, I'm a celebrity gossip junkie! :teeth:

Nope. It's impossible to avoid it completely, since people talk about it or refer to it.

I guess that's one of the things I wonder about. What is it that makes you think a certain Hollywood couple is good together? What is it about certain couples that spark people's interest?? Not trying to be rude or anything. I just don't get it. Are people who are interested in celebrity romances mainly just interested in the lives of stars who's work they particularly enjoy - or are they just interested in all kinds of celebrities in general?

And, as Servants of Evan pointed out, there are a lot of flakey wierdos in the acting business. No doubt about that. I honestly don't have a probelm with the celebrity lifestyle, though. I just don't care about it at all. :confused3 They can do what they want, live where they want, drive what they want, and date/marry/divorce who they want. I couldn't care less. If they are making movies (or television, music, etc.) that I think are worthwhile, that's really I'll I'm interested in.

ME TOO!

I LOVE celebrity gossip. It doesn't affect me personally, but I love to read about it. To me this is my version of watching the soaps. It is not my reality, but it sure is fun to watch (read about).

It seems a shame to me when couples that have been married for a number of years and have started a family break up. It isn't so much that I have any special connection to those people. I guess I would feel them same if I heard of it happening to anyone.

On the otherhand, I really don't care what happens to those couples who can't stay out of the limelight. It is obvious that being in the public eye is really more important than their relationship. In the past, it seems like it is those celebrities that stay low key whose marriages survive.
