Are you having a harder time getting ADRs this year?

i was just browsing around september (we went september 2016) and it seemed that last year there were a lot more prime-time dinners available. I am wondering:

1. If there are more people anticipating FD this year and scooping them up just in case
2. Crowds will be higher (?)

I don't actually need a ressie for September, was just curious what availability looked like.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

I got everything I wanted for the times I wanted. Usually 6:30 pm dinners, noon lunches, and got 8:00 am BOG. As well as fantastic and rivers of light packages. Had no problem at all.

Congrats! :)

I was just remembering that last year, it seemed that there was a lot more availability even a few weeks after 180 days. Like sci-fi restaurant for example. You can still get a reservation for dinner, but 5-7 is pretty much taken. Just wonderin.

I am going on the Summer FD BB offer.

I was able to get everything I wanted, but not all at the "perfect" times. A few ADRs are 15 minutes to a half hour off of my preferred time. I will keep trying to adjust them, but it's not a big deal if I can't.

Late July/early August seems fine. September may be hitting the folks looking for free dining. Heck, they just came out with a regular room discount for summer, and then an AP one today. Last summer, they didn't come out with the AP discount until June I think. I think it just depends when you are going.

I'm just noticing that many restaurants aren't being loaded into the system at 180 days lately. I don't remember that from last year.

I'm assuming there will be more people at wdw than last year. Number 1 reason pandora. Lots more people means lots more adr. So adr will be a little harder to get.

Maybe we were lucky, but we got everything in May and October that we wanted and at the times we wanted. We did use the MDE app and reserve at the 180 day mark. Last year, we had much more trouble for November reservations.

I am! We're doing a split stay, and got 100% of everything we wanted for the first part of September. Late September, having all kinds of issues. Not sure what the difference is.

We're going 9/8 to 9/17. I had no issues getting everything I wanted (except for the ROL dining package) at 180 days out. And I was able to book the ROL package when they were finally released on Monday.

I did mine the other day, and got everything I wanted at pretty much the times I wanted: BOG and CRT dinners, akershus breakfast a little later than planned and CP a little earlier for breakfast. I was so happy, because I really thought I would struggle for the BOG and possibly CRT, but no, first choice of date and times almost bang on.

We are going in June and I keep checking to see if we want to change any of our meals. There's lots of availability for popular restaurants. I found that odd.

We noticed the same thing for 4th of July week. We booked right at 180 days and didn't have any issues getting what we wanted, but I've heard multiple people comment on how much availability there still is.

We never even 'plan' trips more than 2-3 months out, and usually have no problems even getting ADR's then. Sometimes I'll have to try a few times, but I always get the ones we want. Because of having to plan so far in advance, we only get our 'must dos' and wing the rest - much more relaxing for us. We mix CS's in with TS's to give us more flexibility.

Actually, I have found it easier this year. We just switched our dates yesterday and I moved all of them successfully except BOG ( which I knew wasn't going to happen).

I'm going in September and got all the ADRs I wanted for pretty much the times I wanted, (10-15 minutes off for some of them, not really an issue.) And I booked a couple hard to get ones like Ohana and Be Our Guest.

I booked our May trip a week or so within the 180 days and got the BOG reservation I wanted on the first try. That was the only one I wanted that is usually hard to get; the others were no problem; I even added California Grill a couple of weeks later and got a reasonable dinner time slot. So I think it's easier this time for whatever reason.

I'm doing 1 day at MK on 08/17 and not having any luck with a BOG dinner ADR. There are 2 times for BOG breakfast but both are later than I want. Granted, I've been trying to book well past the 180 days. I just keep randomly checking in hopes that something opens up. I've also got a couple of reservation finders doing searches for me. So, for me, it's harder this year.

I got everything I wanted for September at 180 days, but not at the times I wanted. With a little patience I ended up with close enough to the times I wanted. I have a feeling when FD is (or isn't) announced for fall things will open up. My choices did include some harder to get things like PPO BOG, and PPO Akershus, Ohana, and the new Bon Voyage.
