Are you going to WDW in 2014? Let's plan!

Me and hubby went to WDW last july for our honeymoon and ever since then I just can't stop thinking about going again. We spent a crazy ammount for two people last time and now it will be me, hubby, my lill sis (she'll be 12 so adult price arghhhhh) my 4 y/o son and my (still baking, then 2 year old) daughter haha. So I'm guessing it will cost us about a year's pay (literally my yearly pay is poo) lol. We're from Malta but usually travel from London as its cheaper... but trying to find out how much I need to save and prices for this July are CRAZY... hopefully its because its next month... maybe if we book earlier it will be cheaper... would really appreciate it if you guys know any sites with lowr prices or great deals xD thanks :D:D

We're getting married in 2014!!! Aiming for our wedding date to be 11/11 in the WP, will be there for probably 2.5 weeks staying at the Contemporary!!

We'll be booking with Virgin Holidays as there will be at least 8 of us flying at the same time and we are members of the Virgin Frequent Club which gives us an automatic 10% discount weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Hi!

Can I join you all please?!

We are hoping to go late October 2014. We did look at next year last night but there's just not enough time for us to save plus we'd have to book soon for the free DDP.

DH hasn't been since 2003 (his last of 5 trips with his family) and it'll be mine and the children (who by then will be 6 & 7... what a scary thought!) s first trip.
DH would like his parents and sister to join us but then that would probably mean getting a villa. I know the ones they stay in are amazing but for my first trip I'd really like to stay on Disney property (thinking of POR) I love staying on site at DLP and would hate to be away from the magic!

We won't be bothering with universal/sea world as I'm not keen and would rather stick to Disney and then non theme park days. Possibly twin centre but not sure if this would push the cost up loads.

Does anyone know what the average cost for flights is for oct time? (2a 2c) It's hard to work out when the flights for next year aren't out yet!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is all very new to me! I spend a ridiculous amount of time planning 5 days at DLP so this very daunting!!

Hi! :)

Ooooh how exciting! WDW is a little daunting at first, but you've got loads of time to get planning and learn everything.

Be warned, WDW planning is SUPER addictive, there's like 100x more fun stuff to plan, so you're going to have a very exciting adn busy 2 years!

Flight prices fluctuate loads. I'm budgeting £600 each for out 2014 trip. I don't know what kids prices are like though.

Others will be along to help I'm sure! :)

I think twin centre holidays tend to push the price up-plus the free dining wouldnt work with it. youd have to buy park tickets for each hotel stay to get free dining.
would be easier staying at 1 hotel-plus Id hate to have to pack up and move mid holiday.
Although mid holiday, we have booked 1 night at a Universal hotel -just take an overnight bag. :thumbsup2

can you try an talk your DH parents into staying onsite too?
everyone is different but remember its your holiday, book how you want and then you wont be disappointed. They could always hire a villa for themselves. :thumbsup2 you could meet up on certain days and for the odd meal together. :)

Flights- this is all new to me as I usually book package holidays.
However next time think we're going to book with Disney and buy flights.
Although its 2 years away, Im starting to price up flights to get a rough idea.

although its far away Im already more excited than my trip to OZ-I think thats because I dont have to plan anything for OZ.

Thanks, I think you're right, we priced up a twin centre Florida trip before we had the children and it was more expensive. I Think we will stick with POR for the duration of the trip even if we hire a car for a few day trips further afield.

I spoke to DH about his family last night and said as its my first trip I want it to be our trip not just us tagged onto someone else's and feeling like we have to do what they want. He's going to let them know when we're going and if they come at the same time great but if not we're still going then!

I've worked out all my dates, milestones etc and what we need to put aside. I think - or hope, - that I've overestimated the flights a bit but it's better than a nasty shock and will at least allow for them increasing by then.

I'm so looking forward to the planning! I had 9 months of planning for 5 days at DLP so 2.5 years for a two week trip seems about right! :rotfl:

And thanks Torsie for all your help so far!! :goodvibes

Yeah me and the gf taking her best mate and her fella to see the magic really looking forward to going more then this year at the moment

Guys I caved.......................

AHHHHHHHH I booked this morning for June 2013 I dunno if its :scared1::scared1: OR :woohoo::woohoo: Or a bit of both :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Will still be going 2014 with the DBF but the trip next June will be me and my Mum :cloud9::cloud9:

SOOOOO excited x:banana:

We're planning for three weeks at end of June start of July 2014, last went in 2008, soooo excited

We're going to DLRP in November but as I've been 4 times already I'm on to WDW planning. My 820+ page unofficial guide book came in the post on saturday so I've been reading a few pages a night, hmmm maybe at this rate the trip will already be here by the time I've finished it:rotfl:

I've been saying I'm going to go to WDW for ages and as my DD is starting school next september (2013) that's limiting me a bit date wise. I was hoping to sneak an August 2013 trip in or a 1 week October school holiday trip in just because i'm soooooooooo wanting to go but no, I will restrain myself and wait til 2014. I'm thinking April school holidays, even though i've read somewhere it's a really busy time.

I thought I was going bonkers planning it already but when I saw this thread I thought YES! I'm not crazy.... Feels good being able to share thoughts / opinions with others who are in the same boat as me!

I really want to do a 2 week trip (at least :rolleyes1) and even started looking at places to eat / rides / shows etc as well as scour through all the DIS trip reports. As it'll only be me and my DD I'm looking to stay on site, kinda like the look of Art of Animation though would be tempted to go deluxe if it's free DDP as we'll be wanting to do lots of character meals I think.

Anyone have any ideas when next year the 2014 prices are released?

Laura :cool1:

the 2014 dates from (I think) Mar-Dec.....usually come out the end of April beginning of May.

well another thing has come along to disrupt my holiday. :rolleyes1

My sis is planning on getting married. princess:
She's hoping to get married 2014/2015.
My brother who has been engaged for 7 years has decided to try and beat her and her fiance :rolleyes1
They dont all really get on so well and have to try and outdo each other :rotfl:
so my brother has set a date for 11th August 2014. Its right in the middle of our holiday. :sad1:
Obviously im happy for them but its the ideal time for us to go.

Hopefully as we get closer, we'll find out dates for certain (availability of wedding venue)
Dont really want to change the year, may have to change the month and perhaps go earlier on in the school hols.
will have to find out what the end of July is like.......perhaps :upsidedow

Im hoping to save enough to go in 2014 but as I'm restricted to school holidays it will have to be end of July or aug. would love 3 weeks but work wouldn't allow that much time off

oooo im soooo jealous !!! how exciting

We got back just three weeks ago and we're all suffering majorly with what we call the DPs(Disney Depression).
Talk has now turned to how to get back in 2014.So many things stand in our way of getting back, not least our poor home which is in dire need of TLC.So,whats more important house or Disney? Well Disney of course:lmao: but this time i was toying with the idea of cruise first then resort,we've never cruised before so we'll have to see on that one.
So it fingers crossed for late August 2014:woohoo:
Dare i do a ticker? No, i might be tempting fate;)

We are going Jan 2014 for my mum's birthday, staying in a villa in Emerald Island and cannot wait. Its the whole family

I am planning everything. Even got a calendar reminder for when I can book our ADRs lol

Hi Everyone! We're going in 2014 too - can't wait!! I keep annoying DH by asking if its 2014 yet :lmao:

I'm hoping to go in may 2014 for a week. Would love to go 2 weeks but summer holidays would be on time I could do that long but don't think I could deal with the heat or the prices
