Are you buying the Star Wars DVD set or holding out?

AKA "How many times can I repurchase the same movies?"

I was getting ready for a yard sale and was looking through DVD's/VHS tapes to see what I could get rid of and realized I have every edition of SW on VHS and DVD released. I was planning on buying the new set when it's released in September, but now wondering if I should hold out for a box set after the final episode. I'll probably end up cracking and buying in September, I have no control.

I know, not exactly a worry of the world, but work is dull today and I only have 24 days till vacation so I'm slacking off.

I'll hold off. I rarely buy DVDS , though my BF will probably want this for Christmas or something...

I'll be buying it... as one who owns both TE & EE versions of LOTR: FOTR & TT (EE on ROTK hasn't been released yet) you could say that I don't care if I own more than one copy of each... as long as there is something different on them I can justify it in my mind

Hey, don't hold out for the box set, hold out for the HD-DVD ultimate box set...

DH has all 3 original movies individually, the boxed set of the original release and the boxed set of the rerelease all on VHS. He also has episodes 1 and 2 on DVD. He will buy the box set DVD when released (probably already has it preordered!). He will buy episode 3 on DVD after it released also. And when they release episodes 1, 2 and 3 as a boxed set DVD once it released as well. He is a Star Wars geek!

With all the extras they are going to load on this set, I don't think there is any way my DH will wait any longer than X-mas. And, yes we also currently own both VHS box sets.

DS (8) (the star wars fanatic) has already asked me if I was going to buy the DVD's when they come out in September so I guess I'll have to do it even though I'd like to wait until Christmas and give them to him as a gift, don't think he will wait that long.

For the life of me I cannot remember if I've preordered these DVDs or not. Yikes.

I hope that everyone is aware that these DVDs are of the "modified" version of Star Wars that Lucas re-released to the theaters a few years back. There are no plans to ever release the "original" version (which is the one on VHS and on laserdisc). It matters very little to me as I am not that much of a Star Wars purist. One way or another, I will be adding the DVD set to my collection.

OK, I was naive to even consider not buying it yesterday when I posted this. Just talking about it has made me itch to get it the day it comes out. Guess I'll pre-order too.

i have already ordered it from dw for birthday in dec, but i expect her to be at best buy first week for the extra disc that they always include with new releases.
