to swap fries for chips at let's say Columbia Harbor House with a meal or will they charge me a snack credit for it? I saw the Lobster Roll at CHH came with kettle chips and I REALLY dislike them, would they allow me to get fries instead? Thanks for any info!

I have never done the dining plan, so take it with a bucket of salt. I wouldn't think they would allow you to switch a cheap bag of chips for the more expensive french fries (even if paying cash and buying a combo meal that included chips). But as I said, no personal knowledge.

I too would think the same as PP. If you want fries instead of chips you'll most likely have to use a SC or pay OOP.

They might since it's offered as a side for some of the other entrees including the fried shrimp basket. At the very least they will probably let you sub something like apple slices or steamed broccoli. It looks like the chips come with the cold entrees and fries with the hot items. Just ask and see if they'll give you fries or some other option.

This isn't something that's specific to the dining plan. The combo meals come with specific sides whether you pay using a dining credit or OOP. My experience has been that you can at most places get chips instead of fries but you can not get fries instead of chips. YMMV but that seems to be a general trend.

You can ask about a different cold side instead of chips and see if they'll allow that. For some reason, they seem to separate hot and cold sides when looking at what is interchangeable.

Really, you'll just want to ask what you can get instead of the chips.

I swapped broccoli for the chips that came with the lobster roll back in December. I offered to pay extra when I made my request and they said it was no charge. I'm sure they would allow you to swap for fries. If worse comes to worse, just pay extra. No biggie if you hate kettle chips that much.

I've swapped apple slices for the chips (which I, too, dislike). They didn't bat an eye when I asked.

Not sure about fries, though.
