I
LOVE
Tinsel on a christmas tree!
are you one?
& it has to be put on perfectly,, none of this,, giving up & just tossing the stuff on.
it has to be started INSIDE the tree, so the lights reflect on it & makes the tree open up. then. it has to be layered on each branch tip from bottom of tree to the top, so it hangs just right. yea it takes some time but wow does it make a diff doing it right!
instead of a ladder , we ( or should I say "I" since no one else wants to bother with this
) sometimes use a nail in a piece of wood that the pieces are put on & then draped on to the branch.
one year, we even used a hairdryer to float the stuff up on the tree, but it was during the "just-get-it-done" phase year. our trees are usually over 10 ft.
I am still waiting for the decorations to get put on the tree so I can finish MY part............ I am hoping I can get away with 20 boxes of tinsel this year.
now I know people who would rather have NO tree than to put tinsel on it!
it looks,, well sooooooo naked.
yea its a pain, & like needles you find tinsel till june in your house. & we don't let the animals in the room where the tree is.

I don't string popcorn or cranberries anymore either.
For years when DD was very young I would cringe because she had to help put the tinsel on and of course would just toss it up in the air at the tree. Thank goodness she's over all that and I can take control again.
