I choose to embrace my geekiness--I have become one with it.

And I admit to the world that I LOVE and I SING Broadway show tunes.

I'm definitely a geek...but I like it!

I'm one of those students who gets mad if I get below a 4.0, and I got called crazy for taking so many advanced classes last year. I am completely obsessed with Lord of the Rings, and also quite addicted to Homestar Runner. I am entirely addicted to the internet and AIM...I often don't move from my computer chair all day. I have a personal website, and I taught myself html and css last summer. I make new layouts for my website for fun. I blog on my site, but I still have a xanga site for the sole purpose of commenting on my friends' xangas. And of course...I'm a band geek!! Marching band is the highlight of my summer and fall!

This is hysterical. I've teased DH for years for being a geek. I made him give up his pocket protector. He writes code for fun and sometimes when I'm talking to him, I KNOW he's writing it in his head. He's British, though, which makes people think he's suave and debonair so he's harder to catch as a geek unless you know him pretty well.

But well, I'm a nerd. I read for fun, I sing old songs real loud, I love big band music, my favorite game is Scrabble...the list goes on and on. DD, 13, is the one who has brought it to my attention. Seems the things that made you quirky and interesting when you were in your 20's, make you a nerd as you get older!

I'm more of the dork persuasion, for reasons too many to mention. The quoting of movies, the Broadway showtunes, the fact that I can win at Upwards using words strictly from the lexicon of Harry Potter (proper names included)....heck, the fact that I still PLAY Upwards (and it's one heck of a part-ay, let me tell you!)....it all points in that direction, so we'll just not list anymore for fear of incrimination.


A bit more worry-some, however, is my unexplained affection for dorks. And nerds. I'm not so big on geeks (no offense to anyone here! ), but I'm pretty sure that your definition of geek is a little different than my qualifications.

It's so true. All my dream suitors are, for the most part, certified geeks or dorks. While my friend is swooning for Vin Diesel, I'm having a lovefest for Mr. Clay Aiken. Another can't get enough of Ashton Kutcher, but I'm more of a Topher girl myself. At his dorkiest, mind you.


*sigh* My 12 year old former babysittee told me I need to buy the t-shirt that says I LOVE DORKS because when I enter the room, everyone announces, "THE DORK SQUAD IS COMING, THE DORK SQUAD IS COMING!"

Mind you, she's my mini-me, so what it says about her, I won't point out.

So I'm glad to know there are plenty of Disers also on "The Dork Squad".

1)I love animated anything..cartoons, movies,computer animation, traditional hand drawn cel animation..I could go on for hours about the differences and the different styles and everything.

2)I read Brian Jacques novels and can honestly say I wish I lived in Redwall!

3)One of my favorite books is George Orwell's 1984
