Are you a crier or a yeller?

When something disappointing happens, do you react with sadness or anger? (Obviously, there is a certain threshold for just brushing things off, but I'm talking about things big enough to get some sort of reaction out of you, personally.)

I'm more likely to feel sad (mope, cry, that sort of thing) but both DH and DS say they're more likely to feel angry (yell, swear, grouch at the world).

Based on that small sample, of course, I wonder if it's a gender thing...but I know better than to assume.

I rarely cry. If I yell it’s in defense of someone or something. Like yesterday “What were you thinking? You know it’s wrong and you still threw a cup at your sister’s face.” “You told me shut up twice today, you say it again, you’re grounded.” Gotta love parenting teens. Constant referee here.

I'm not an angry person by nature, so I don't think I'd react that way if something disappointing happens. I haven't yelled at someone for a long time, probably when my sister and I were teenagers and yelling at each other. I'm also not a crier, I'm more likely to isolate myself and have a mope-not that anyone notices my moping at my house.

Yeller. I lose my patience easily when I am angry or frustrated. It's something I am working on getting better at :)

I hate crying in front of people. I was raised to feel that it shows weakness. lol I cry in my car alone on the way home from work when I hear songs that make me emotional. It's great therapy!

However, crying works with DH. His mother is a manipulative crier, and has used it all his life to guilt him. Because of that, I try to NEVER cry in front of him...I feel like I am manipulating him if I do.

Both. Last night I had to go to the bathroom and scream my lungs out before dealing with my oldest. When I get into it with DH, I usually cry. Not to try and manipulate him, but usually just out of frustration. Occasionally I cry when my kids make me mad. When I cry, they know they have crossed a line they cannot get go back from.

I think I'm a mix of the two, but I am very well known for how emotional I can be so I'd imagine crier would be my first reaction.
