Yes, but I tend not to believe in seven 24 hour days. A day with God can be 1000 years and 1000 years as a day.
Thank you for your input-I hadn't thought of that.
Also, to all that do believe in creationism-is it true that people who are pro-creationism do not believe dinosaurs existed at all?
No. I find creation myths fascinating and sometimes beautiful. But like most myths, they are stories people devised to answer the "unknown".
No, not at all.
What I want to know is, if we are going to have to teach creationism ("intelligent design") in school, whose creation myths should we teach? The Navajo have some interesting beliefs, as do Hopi, the Hindus, the Zoroastrians, the Mormons, the Scientologists and the Maori, to name just a few. I think this could take up a considerable part of one's school career.
Thank you for all of your input. I'm just trying to understand this belief. I completely understand those who believe that God created humans, I was just confused on how people could not believe that dinosaurs existed and I wondered why that thought this. I'm starting to understand what creationism is now & the dinosaurs part seems like the extreme side of the belief-is this correct?
I would not mind it being taught as a general theory in a short segment of the class, mentioning the many different beliefs. It wouldn't have to go into great detail of all of the beliefs, just short overview.
