Are you a Commando or a Savor the Magic Visitor?

We have AP's so go about every other month. At least once a year we do an overnight so we can do the parks tow days. (love those trips!!).

So, I feel that I am now really relaxed, taking it slow and really enjoying the whole Disney thing. (Okay, so I do zip about collecting FP's for later when it is crowded).

Well, apparently my savor and relaxed mode is die-hard commando isnsome eyes. My parents felt I was a mad woman and that we did SO much when I took them in Dec. 2007. ( and I was pushing my 200lb dad in a wheelchair!!). Sure we did lots...but I got a full PhotoPass CD as well!!!

This Sunday went for my DD's birthday and I felt we had a very relaxed day. Did some rides, ate some churros, saw Honey I shrunk the Audience, all super mellow. Her friend didn't make it to school on Monday because we wore her out!! "I have never walked so far in my entire life" was her excuse for missing school!!

So, even commando feel the magic!!!!:)

Last year, my in-laws spent an average of 2 hours in each line for the Fantasyland rides with the grandkids-- that's not my idea of savoring!

I'm hoping I can have my plan but be open to other experiences if they cross my path so I can appreciate them. I also want to be open to the beauty around me as we walk through the park instead of having my nose in a map and my eyes only looking for the next ride.

Oh. My. Gosh. 2 hours average???

Might not want to show them this picture. Dumbo, we were on the first ride of the morning, on Memorial Day Monday.

Casey Jr we would have been on the 2nd trip after we got in line, but a certain new 4 year old suddenly needed the bathroom.

Peter Pan was long, b/c we went at night, but nowhere near even an hour, let alone 2.

Teacups we were on 2 ride lengths after we got in line, no, 1, b/c the people in front of us would have taken up two teacups (they wouldn't split up) and there was only one left.

And on and on.

Feel free to read my trip reports linked in my signature, if you haven't already! I write a lot and some people seem to like 'em, and I like to think I do what you hope to do....have a plan and know where I'm going, but also stay open to the other things that cross my path.

LOL, I know that feeling! When I started writing this trip report I thought "wow we barely did anything", and then I looked at my notes (yes I keep notes) and realized that despite stopping to smell the roses, getting as much food as needed, taking breaks at least half the days, and my being in lots of pain due to a stupid shoe trick the night before our park visits started, we got quite a bit in!

We go fast sometimes and slowly others. :)

Savor the magic. We used to be real commando, but now that we have APs, if we didn't go on or see something we know we'll be back..::yes::

Same here. My husband hated going when we did the commando route, he doesn't exactly love it now, but he has told me how much better it is now that we have APs. When a line is too busy, we just plan for it next time, and sometimes we don't even ride a thing. Yesterday my daughter and I went to DL just to eat lunch at Carnation and then we left and went shopping at Ontario Mills. It is soooo much more enjoyable for us now.

I am commando style only in that I generally have an idea of what I want to start with each day, generally going by show schedules, etc. Aside from that, we are pretty much savorers. We are seldom at the park at opening. We take midday breaks. We usually leave the park a bit before closing time to avoid the masses exiting the park.

There are four of us in our family. We start out together doing a ride then usually DH splits with out teenage son to go do the BIG rides while DD-8 and I head for whatever we are in the mood for. We take turns deciding what comes next. We meet up for lunch, take our afternoon break in our room and then head back to the park whenever we get around to it.

Of course, if we didn't have 10 days to take our time I would probably become a full blown commando!
