Are we giving ourselves enough time?

We plan to go to a waterpark only one day as soon as they open (10 AM I believe), but we then have an ADR at Chef Mickery's for 2:30. Obviously by the time we finish eating, it will be too late to return to the waterpark (Either TL or BB) which close at 5 or 6. Do you think we are cutting our time there too much and will miss out? Whats the latest we will have to leave the park to get to CM's by 2:30?

Thanks!

It depends on your method transportation and how much time you will spend changing from water park to dinner clothes.

If you are using bus transportation, you would need to leave TL by 1PM (to bus to Disney Springs then bus to Contemporary). And you would have to start changing before then... so you are down to 2.5 hours in the water park.

If you are driving (or possibly Uber) you gain an hour not waiting for busses, and 3+ hours in a water park is a fairly nice time.

I agree with PP. It depends on how you plan on getting to Chef Mickey's. If you are driving yourself, you should be in your car heading out of the water park no later than 2:00 pm (maybe even 1:45 pm to deal with any traffic, getting a parking spot at CR, etc.). You could also uber or lyft and, again, be in the car by 2:00 pm. You will need time to change, so you probably need to be done with the slides by 1:30 pm at the latest. For us, that would be plenty of time at the water park. We typically show up at 10 am, do slides until 1 pm (the crowds and lines start to build late morning), eat QS there and then leave.

If you are using Disney transportation, it takes much much longer as you have to take two buses. I would allow yourself at least 90 minutes to get from a water park to CR if you are using Disney buses, which would mean only having about 2.5 hours at the water park. That wouldn't be worth it to me.

That schedule wouldn't work for us primarily because we always feel that we have to go back to the resort to shower and change after being covered in sand and sunscreen, plus being all hot and sweaty.

We typically get there before opening and leave around 2:00 or 2:30. Then we go back to the resort to shower and change and then head somewhere for dinner.

I don't think it's enough time (whether busses or uber/driving). We went to a water park our last trip but unfortunately there were a few cooler days and we had to move our water park day to departure day due to it being closed the day we had planned to go. We were there about 3 hours and it was not enough! We loved it and were sad that we only got a partial day there. We are going back in September so it will be nice and hot for our next water park day :)

I would consider changing the Chef Mickey's to another day/ cancel or find a dinner reservation which would allow you plenty of time at the water park. Nothing ruins your time more than watching the clock and having to rush somewhere. Even if you were to grab a minnie van to save some time are you really going to go right from a water park, change and head to a restaurant. Keep in mind it is a vacation, so try not to cram in too much or it won't be enjoyable.
