We have planned a "last minute" trip for us in September. It's not a full week, and we will only have four full days. We have been many times, and aren't into commando touring, atleast not anymore. Staying at the Boardwalk. We are thinking of going with no plan. That includes no dining reservations. If we have a sit down, great, if not, we are close to epcot, and have boardwalk options for counter service. But for some reason, the idea of micromanaging our vacation this week, doesn't appeal to me. Even though every other time we have really planned it. The idea of spending $100 on a character breakfast ....not really feeling it. But worried we will end up wasting so much time and possibly money. Anyone else go without a plan? and still have a great vacation?!

Hey there! :goodvibes I have to admit I always overplan each trip, but I'm getting better at not being so O/C about everything now. However, if you try it, I'd love to hear how it goes. I'm just not that spontaneous I guess.

Yes, I have done this several times and have loved it! Something about the spontaneity of it all that is wonderful. We have also been to Disney many times so I no longer feel the push to do everything on each visit. The key is to be flexible. You are at the Boardwalk, which is great because you have so many options for dining right near you. Also the close proximity to Epcot, the Studios, and the other resorts within walking distance/boat ride will work to your advantage. I have been able to walk into table service restaurants (yes even during free dining!!) and have a fabulous time. Again the key is to be flexible, and do not get your heart set on any one place or time! I also use the concierge desk at the resort to scope out reservations for us and you would be amazed at how you can find openings due to last minute cancellations.

It sounds like you have the right attitude to do this so go and have fun! While it is not for everyone, these "unplanned" trips have usually been my favorites!!

I didn't plan anything except one adr for our 10 day trip. Except for the original booking of pop,10 myw ticket and QSDP free.

I love that we can just go where we want and do what ever don't have to be somewhere everyday. We are going to go to MNSSHP that is the only day we have to be at a certain park. I think we are going to add hoppers also since we are not stuck to any certain plan. We do plan on going to mk 3 times epcot 2 times. HS,AK, TL and BB one day each. So are days are booked but we can go when ever we feel like it. Except for our adr day at Epcot. So if we feel like sleeping in than so be it.

We planned a last minute trip in June for DD's birthday. We were there for 4 days/3 nights and had a wonderful time!! We did not plan, and also stayed at the Boardwalk. We rode all of our families must do rides and took advantage of EMH and park hopping. Have fun

This is true for us too. This past June was our third year in a row and we didn't have any ADR's, which I usually take care of 6 months in advance. Having said that this year we decided we were just going to take one day at time and just enjoy everything. This year we were able to eat at the Rose and Crown in Epcot at 6pm - walked right up and were seated in 5 minutes, outside by the water - so it was unexpected, not planned and it made it that more special. On another day we went to Le Cellier for lunch. Walked right up at about 11:45 and were seated right away (right after they opened). Love the little surprises that make the trip that much more special! Go and enjoy!

We did budget/no planning/relaxation trip this past May.
It was wonderful!

We planned on what parks we would be in on what days just to maximize our time - and do the 'must see/do' category - but other than that we had no other plans. No reservations - No hard and fast things that we 'HAD' to do.

We were very flexible and very open to doing things at the last minute. We even packed food so we wouldn't have to sit down to eat anywhere.

The only regret we had - was that we were able to get a last minute reservation and didn't realize we could have used a DVC/AP discount at Tutto Italia and save some money on that meal - BUT - life goes on.

My advice - STICK TO YOUR NO PLAN AGENDA!

My wife is the type that REQUIRES a plan - but I was able to get her to relax a little and enjoy our trip more than we had a previous trip where things were a little over planned in my opinion. SO - stick to your plan not to plan!
