OP, The beauty of life is that you get to steer the ship. You and your husband decide what is best for your family. If you want three trips per year to the world then so be it. It is your choice and don't let anyone's negativity bring you down.

We went through a similiar feeling of guilt about the vacations we take each year. We endured many snide comments along the way. In the end we found out that your true friends and family will ALWAYS be happy for you. The snide comments come from the jealous and angry.

MY DH wants to retire and become part-time cast member, as well. As far as snide comments...there are some people who get it and some that don't..we had 2 trips this year and are considering a quick weekend jaunt before the end of the year...we did not take vacations when our DD was younger and now she can navigate all around each park at 6.

Once our infant is 3 we will have to move up to a 2 bedroom. This will require more points, and we will most likely go down to two trips a year to WDW.

A family of five (all members over 3) does not have to get a 2 bedroom. Although the stated limit on a 1 bedroom is 4 people plus a child under 3, they do make an exception and permit 2 adults and 3 children in the room. However, they do not give you extra bedding or towels. We stayed in a 1 bedroom with our daughters ages 11, 11, and 7, and we were very happy with it.

Of course you can choose the larger size room anytime that you wish.

Also, your oldest child may not always be going with you in a few years when your youngest is 3.

This isn't anyone's business, but your's. Don't worry about what others think about your excellent vacations. They are probably envious! Now, about the...We have 3 kids 16,3, and 4 months...... time to stop. You will not be able to take a truly relaxing vacation until that last one is married or self-sustaining. Sorry... just my experience. Someone needs to get something cut and tied... Hey Big Boy... step up and take it like a man. YIKES... I am really letting out tonight... Too much wine I think.

Funny you should mention this, just got a Vasectomy this week. I am looking forward to a trip with just the wife and I in about 3 years. Kids will stay with Grandma. CAN'T WAIT!

Thanks for replying. I feel a little better... really thought maybe I had overstepped the bounds on this one. The first alone trip for DW and I was 16 years after our first born. We almost didn't know what to do.

I share the OP's situation of the snide comments on the number of Disney trips and the number and spacing of my kids. It is nobody's business as to "How do ya manage to insert (go to Disney) or (have so many kids)? I have to pay those Disney bills, diaper those kids, and pay for college, not them. I have learned the very hard way this year that life is extremely short and this is our one shot at it. Life is not a rehearsal. So, off to Disney I go.

I have several friends at work who really do get DISNEY! We talk about it all the time. But I try not to bring it up in front of those who usually say something like this, "you guys are going again??" We try to get in two trips per year and bought DVC because we enjoy it so much. We'll be there in about one week for Thanksgiving week. I waited until a couple of days ago to tell my sister. I love her dearly but didn't want to hear, "you're going to Disney again for Thanksgiving???" My family loves WDW and would love to share disney memories with our extended family but if they're not interested I guess we'll bring our future grandchildren someday.

I find WDW to be one of the only places that I can keep my DH, DD15, DD12, DD10, and DS2 all happy. We could go some place DH and I would enjoy but the kids would be bored. We all love WDW, it is a place we can go that everyone is happy we don't have to worry about our children being exposed to something inappropriate because it is a family place. There is something for everyone. All 4 of our children have been to WDW for their 1st birthday. We go every year and have gone as much as 5 times in a year. I find the people who don't understand it wouldn't like going anyway. Some people just can't take that much happiness. I say go as often as you can, enjoy it and remember you are not alone. There are many of us just like you.

Again, yes it does to all who are crazy to see a Mouse so much as what my co workers and family had told me one to many times. And about overdoing it, as long as you dont feel like it is a CHORE that you need to go and the passion have not died down and makes you feel bored about it go for it !

I don't see why this is anybody's business.

And YES it is none of their bussiness!

Enjoy, there are so much stuff to do in Florida not just the parks. Or just plain vegetating in your comfy DVC room is worth going!

Kdzgon, Thanks for the info I will look into this. I know that there are cheaper fares out there, but because my 2 smallest are so young I like to get seats all together. This usually requires advanced booking of several months. But I am always looking for a bargan, Thanks!

Both sites allow normal advance booking, but also have near-immediate e-mail alerts for short sales (sometimes only hours, others last days or more). It doesn't mean you need to travel on short notice, though. In fact, if I see a good deal, I usually just go to the airline site and book directly, but I use these sites to monitor fares. Farecompare is more user-friendly, but the other has some good articles and tips as well as notification when airlines make mistakes like posting fares for $0 (you book, and just pay the fees & taxes).

People think we are kind of weird because we go every year. So what! It isn't any more crazy than people that go to Hawaii, Mexico, Palm Springs, etc., more than once a year.

I might add that those who don't get Disney,either have never gone or don't do it like we all do. They usually stay off site, stay all day until everyone is dead and cranky, eat fast food only, (none ofthe cool restaraurants),or don't make reservations before they go, don't know about cool stuff to do...ei. segway tours, boat rentals etc. and come home exhausted. I try to tell them before they go but most don't listen and come home hating Disney. We took a friend of my daughters who belongs to a dDsney hating family. She kept calling her mom and saying I like the way they do to Disney. It took eveything I had not to say....I told you so.

That is great!! I have a couple of friends who understand the "Disney thing" and conversations are definitely much different with them than it is with most anyone else!
I am hoping I can get the rest of my family to understand when we go this spring. For most of them, it is their first time there. This forum is very addicting, as well. I have spent an hour or more on these boards before I realize it......
