Are we crazy???? Disney World for New Years!

Chances are that you could get into EPCOT as late as 3:00 PM (from a CM).

If you have a PS at one of the Epcot restaurants NYE, you should be able to get in as late as you want (again from a CM).

Thanks. We are leaning toward Epcot. We were just there the end of August for 11 days, and this really is a spur of the moment thing. So I am trying to get all the information I can about Disney at holiday time .(going to disneyland in feb.) We just can't get enough!

Count me in with the rest of you crazy people! ;) I'll be down there Dec. 26-Jan. 4, and can't wait.

Was also down there with family last year for the same week, and we had a wonderful time. We made full use of early entry mornings and fastpasses, which helped us to manage the crowds just fine. Have a terrific time!

Hi! I'm new here, being lurking for a while, okay since Selwife started here reports. :D
I'm also going to Disney on NY, going to be there from Dec. 27- Jan4. :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc I don't mind the crowds, never gone to Disney without any of it. I want December to come already.

We went for the Millennium (Dec. 31, 1999- Jan. 7 2000). While New Years Eve was like trying to walk through a sardine can (Epcot), it was FANTASTIC!!! It will be crowded the days leading up to New Years, but we found the morning of New Years Day to be wonderfully empty at the parks. By the 2nd, no one was around! I would think the day of the week would make a difference. Since NYE is in the middle of the week this year, I would think the crowds would stay around through Saturday.

Aloha!

My d/h and I (both in our 50s) just finalized our travel, (with a little help from another board member) from Dec 28-Jan 8.

I've been scouting out the details now, and cracked up when I saw this thread.

We think we're nuts, but I see that we'll be in good company with so many DIS members celebrating the New Year at WDW.

Hurray for all of us!

Nancy

We will be with you, we are two crazy 55+ disney fanatics and this will be our first NYE onsite. Can't wait.

Wow! What a great chance to meet other disboard members.

We will be wearing our famous lime green shirts along with our Home Depot Mickey tags on everything else :bounce:

Trying to get ff tix on UAL but their site is down today

We may end up driving.

Hope to meet other dissers this time

Yes it will be very crowded, you should avoid WDW at all costs. This will leave more space for whose of us who be there. We are going 12/28 -1/2/04. So be smart and stay home till all the crazy people go home::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: :yo-yo: :yo-yo: :yo-yo:

::yes:: My DH and I will be at WDW also from Dec. 29-Jan. 1. We could not get resssies for the WDW resorts (we are on a wait list) but are staying in one of the DTD resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd. We have PS for bkfst and dinner and just plan on relaxing and enjoying our hotel and DTD. We are on our way down to
south Florida for the winter and couldn't pass WTD without staying there. We will be back in March to do the parks and we have a cruise booked for the Western in February. From all that
we have been reading we probably won't do the parks in December because of the crowds.:hyper:

Check out the DVC rent board. I picked up a 5 night studio ressie at BWV from a fellow DVC member last week, and then we were able to add on the extra time we needed.

Thanks for the advice - I have been searching those boards also. Next year we will know better and book way ahead of time;)

Count us in with the crazies as well!::yes::

We will be there 12/30-1/6/04! This is our first NY trip also.

Like many of you, I am expecting the crowds to stay until the weekend (with NY day on a Thursday). But I have posted many questions about this and everyone who seems to know say no that the crowds are gone by Jan 2 no matter when the first falls. The fact that the rooms rates drop A LOT on 1/2 seem to back this up. I am taking the position of expecting the worse and hoping for the best!

We are staying in Dolpin 12/30-1/1 and moving to Poly on 1/2. We have dinner reservations at Morroco on 12/31 and I CAN'T WAIT:teeth:

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO US!!!!
