Given the delay I experienced ordering an AP online, I would give it at least 2 days before you need them. Of course if you do that, the email will be sent a second later...but I had a delay of a matter of hours if memory serves, and it made me just nervous enough that I would want to give myself a couple days in the future...just in case.

If you are staying onsite you can pick them up from the desk at the hotel. If you are staying offsite you can pick them up at the main entrance guest services at the park. hth
