Are they still seating only 1 family/party per table?

I would be shocked if........someone who is feeling ill....and reported it........wasn't tested for covid on board. That was the process way back in 2003 for Norovirus. If you had symptoms, the medical center tested you.
I think her point was “obviously ill”. Meaning if you really feel like crap one would go to the medical facility. But this is where the patient proactivesly seeks care. I highly doubt anyone who wakes up in the morning with a scratchy sore throat it’s going to head over to medical and say hey give me a corona test right away. Or congestion. Or a headache a pill can take care of.

Long time cruiser here. My Travel Agents over the years always advised if you don't feel well on a cruise, go to the medical center because it may be simple, and treatment may save your trip.

For what it's worth, you do agree to do exactly that when you sign the documents during check-in.

That was in the days before reporting a sore throat or congestion could lead to you being put in quarantine for the rest of the trip.

Reporting symptoms to the medical center might be required, but no one really believes that doing so these days will "save their trip". Quite the opposite.

And people are people and not going to report much unless they have no choice and need medication or something. Not saying its right but being realistic.

Sadly, I agree. In 2018 I was on the Wonder and my sister had gotten permission to eat with me. At a table in our section there was a mother and daughter and a mother and twin boys. The night we were in Tiana's, one of the boys threw up at dinner. The team was amazing, immediately moving the mother and daughter to another table (and offering to move us but we were almost finished) and then housekeeping came in to bundle everything on the table into the tablecloth and put it in a hazard bag to take to the incinerator. The head server did instruct the mother to take the child who had thrown up to medical. When we finished, my sister wanted to head to her office to make sure that medical was alerted (she was able to find out the info based on the table number) - they had not been visited by the mom and kid(s), but medical got in contact with the mom only to discover that she had apparently cleaned the kid up and dropped both of them off in the kids club.

Yep. People definitely don’t report. I have read a few trip reports trip reports where people openly talk about being sick on the cruise as if they did nothing wrong—I think most people just aren’t really aware of the obligation to report or don’t take it seriously.

I guess throwing up is a bit of a interesting situation because as a mom, you do know things about your kids that commonly make them throw up despite not being sick—e.g severe motion sickness and the boat was rocking; kid with intense sensory issues trying a new food; too much ice cream on the pool deck. But yeah, probably just a sick kid and a parent who didn’t want her vaycay ruined.

Yeah, in this case the kid had not had motion issues any other night (this was the nest to last night, so not one of the two times you're crossing the Gulf Stream). Could have been too much ice cream or something but...
Just like my dad when he got sick, even medical said it was 95% the combo of a rich dinner at Palo the night before super hot Cartagena - but he still reported and accepted the 24-hour quarantine.

I just received an email response from Disney to my request for a private dining table on our April 21 cruise. I'm glad that I got a response, and it contains the standard statement that they will do their best but it is not guaranteed. Nowhere in the message do they state that they are not currently seating multiple parties at the same table, that they do not know yet whether they will be seating multiple parties at the same table when I sail, or anything else indicating that there is any chance that they will not be seating multiple parties at the same table. Sounds like this is a done deal.

When they responded to my request for my April 30th cruise all they said was they would make a note on my reservation nothing more.

This was Disney policy on our 2003 cruise, but the illness then was norovirus. So very current advice in the current pandemic.

How long ago did you send your request? Just asking because I am on the same cruise and sent a request at the end of last week and am waiting on a response

I got a response that it has been noted on my reservation for the May 16th Dream sailing. I sent the request over the weekend.

I sent my email request on April 4 and I got the response today (April 8).

I got a response about an hour later. But other things I’ve emailed about have taken a 5-10 to respond to.

For my 6/18 cruise, I sent a request for a private table on 4/4 and got a reply at 10pm on 4/8. They said the request was added to my reservation with the typical caveat that it is just a request and subject to availability. (We have been lucky with our first 2 cruises, seated just as our party of 4 without requesting it...but not ready to sit with strangers at dinner after the past 2 pandemic years.)

I also checked that the "graduation celebration" note is still on my reservation for my 2 kids after changing cruises. 1 graduating college and 1 high school, crazy year! (The note is still there.)

😃 And I figured that since I was already contacting them, I wrote that I'd love a "cruise overview" paper navigator given on day 1 to refer to throughout the cruise. I doubt it will cause any changes, but at least it lets them know there is still some interest in paper navigators and they acknowledged what I said.

I just received a reply about my request for my party of two to have a private table. The reply stated that the smallest table is for four and that on "rare occasion" a private table for two can be accommodated.

Is second seating an option for you? I've always had my 2-person private table request accommodated, but I've also always had second seating.

I agree this may be true. I’ve requested a private table on many cruises and have NEVER gotten my request filled. I have gotten a private table on the second leg of a b2b everytime I ask (But I’m asking in person then). I’ve tried to go to the dining room on embankment day to request and not Successful either. Note—they no longer have the tables at the dining room on embankment day.
