All the crocs we own have a crocodile symbol on the strap and say crocs on the bottom. Imitations should not have this and should have their own brand name on them somewhere. Hope this helps!

I agree... I haven't seen any imitations that say Crocs right on them, and there shouldn't be any that do. On the Crocs website, if you go under the tab at the top of the homepage that says "Shop," there is an option called "Find Crocs Near You." You enter your state and town (or a nearby one) and the site will give you a list of places that sell Crocs. You can also order them from several places online.
The real crocks have a crocodile on the little buttons that hold the straps. The fake ones might have another picture on the buttons, but not a crocodile.
My crocs also say www.crocs.com on the bottom. It also used to say where they were made (colorado maybe?), but that part is worn off and I can't read it.
Alot of the knockoffs also have different shaped holes on top(if they are knock offs of Beach or Cayman). Some are octagonal, some are diamond-shaped, etc. My local Kroger store sells look alikes now(with round holes, nonetheless). To me, it's just obvious. The others just look so CHEAP. Crocs will have a croc symbol on the strap and will have the word "crocs" printed on the strap. They are also much more comfy. Crocs aren't sold at places like WalMart, grocery stores, CVS, etc. "CROCS" is a brand name. It isn't a nickname or description. Crocs will have SOMETHING on them identifying them as such.
