Ok So I have to deside if I'm gonna pay out of pocket for brkfst at 1900 or Sci-Fi. You see I made the Sci-Fi when I thought we were gonna stay all day at HS but now the group says they don't care to stay all day. I could cancell it however they have tomato soup and my son love tomatoe soup and has Sensory issue and food is a challange for him. As he dosen't care for a wide varity. Can't cancell the 1900 park fare as they want to see Alice and the Mad Hatter.

So if I don't do dessert at Sci-Fi we could pay oop for this meal or do I use my dinning plan on this meal and pay oop for 1900. Then should I just cancell Sci-Fi leave and do CS as that was what I had planned on doing however I know my son would love to eat a milkshake and tomatoe soup in a car like they have. But then I might have extra CS as we are staying in the cabins and will eat brkfst most days there.

Of course my faimly's no help as they just tell me "what ever you want to do mom" So I'm looking for a sounding board please.

We will be Me 3?, DH 43, DD16 Dmom 60's DS10 DS2 and DD7 (who by the way is Autistic so that might seel the deal) Just some other views please.

Thanks

LOL. Not sure I followed all that, but here's what I think... :)

Sci-Fi would be cheaper to pay OOP than 1900 Park Fare. And, yes - we really enjoyed Sci-Fi and I wouldn't hesitate to pay OOP for Sci-Fi. The food, in my opinion, is more lunch-ish so it's a great option for lunch AND it gets you out of the sun in a relaxed atmosphere for an hour.

And, with your son liking something they offer, that makes it especially worthwhile.

The restaurants at DHS don't appeal to me in the slightest, but we're definitely doing Sci-Fi again next time we go.

I would definitely keep Sci Fi, very cool restaurant. Totally worth the oop for your ds's enjoyment. Your could split meals to keep the oop lower, but you can still order burgers at dinner which are reasonably priced. I would skip making breakfast one day and do Main Street Bakery for breakfast at MK to use the extra cs credits, really yummy!

We've always paid OOP at Sci Fi even when we've been on the DDP because it's one of the less expensive TS. The atmosphere is fun and since your son has sensory issues, but likes tomato soup, I would go there.

1900 Park Fare is a buffet so everyone in your group except the 2 year old will be charged regardless of how much/how little they eat.

However, figure out what everyone is likely to order at Sci Fi and compare your total with the price of the 1900 buffet. Use the TS credit at whichever restaurant is going to be more expensive.

For children (on the child's plan) it is better to pay out of pocket at the TS meals that aren't buffet. Save their credits for the buffets.

For adults you should check prices as it might be better to pay at the buffet and use the credit for a non-buffet restaurant. Sci-Fi is one of the cheaper restaurants so just look at prices and see what you would order. You might find with a milkshake and an entree you don't want or need a dessert.

As others have said, it's typically a better financial decision to pay out-of-pocket on the non-buffet restaurant. Sci-Fi especially is one of the cheaper table service locations, so you are probably best off using your dining plan credits at 1900 Park Fare.
