Are these plans too ambitious, well just really on one particular day

Here is my game plan for now for two days in my trip. Is this too ambitious, especially the April 2nd date.

March 31st
9:00- 12:00- Animal Kingdom
1:00- 5:00- back to the resort, rest, relax
6:00- 10:00- Magic Kingdom


April 2nd
9:00- 12:00- Magic Kingdom
1:00- 5:00- back to the resort, rest, relax
6:00- 9:00- Hollywood Studios
9:30- 11:00- Epcot, quick trip over there to try to get in a ride on Soarin before they close

I think that's totally doable. I just did EP to MK hop when EP closed at 9 pm and MK closed at 11 pm. I didn't get a lot done in MK, but it was enough to do one ride (could have done two) and soak up the atmosphere. If you are up for it, you may want to consider walking from DHS to EP if the boat line is long. You could also do an uber/lyft to BC and walk to EP IG from there. Either way, it shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to get to EP and that's plenty of time to get in line for Soarin' before the park closes. In fact, you may want to try for a Soarin' FP+ after you've finished any FP+ you want to do in DHS.

I had to stop myself - for the way my family vacations, there's SO MUCH downtime in your plan that we wouldn't take! But we're park commandos, my kids were 10 and 8 the first time we brought them and we were open-to-close at the parks every day with one full rest day in the middle. But I TOTALLY recognize that not everyone enjoys those kinds of trips like we do

I don't see a problem with the schedule. If you had young kids, it might be an issue, but not with the ages you have.
If you enjoy that much downtime, its great. For us, that would be too much.

Your plan is doable. 3/31 with staying at the park until 10pm, expect that you would not get back to your resort until after 11pm. Usually at that time of night the lines for busses are long and you might have to wait for a bus or 2 before you can get on. So this might put you getting to bed by 11:30. To make it to MK for 9am opening then you need to be at the bus stop by 8am.

Your 4/1 day is busy but doable. I would not plan an early morning the following day - you might want to sleep in a little after 2 long days.

Like other have said it all depends on your traveling party -- traveling with younger kids - this will never work. But if you have older kids, probably over 7, then they can probably handle the longer days and late nights

I think an important question here is what/how much are you expecting to accomplish in each park?

Just for me personally that would be too much down time, unless I had a bunch of other park days

I think the plan is quite doable.

1. You're taking advantage of the beginning and ends of each day, which are when the weather is cooler and the crowds are lighter in each park.
2. You're making the most of your park hoppers, by leaving DHS after it's closed and extending your day at Epcot.
3. Related to #2, you're getting the most out of EMH at Epcot.
4. You're avoiding 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the parks, which are some of the busiest hours with the longest lines, during the hottest (and often rainiest) time of day
5. And while many of us are park commandos, you're enjoying the vacation style that you want to enjoy. There's no one "correct" way to vacation. Plus, that downtime at the resort will make you refreshed and energized for the second half of each day.

We love the 3-4 hours down time. Even if it were a longer trip, we still do down time during the day. I will add we are doing Typhoon Lagoon on April 1st.

Might look into using Uber some.

Ya, they will be fine. We will probably be having some resort pool time, which I take very seriously. We were originally booked for OKW, but I knew they would probably enjoy the pools at SSR more so I switched.

No way. all 4 parks in one day.. that's a little ambitious. Especially if you add DS. 2 in one day is child's play!

Leaving room for rest is always good advice, but I think she's got it planned into her schedule already. Since she's got a "down" day in between (4/1), they shouldn't be too worn out. Plus with the long afternoon breaks, that's a great time to grab a nap. Even with a late night, the next morning I'd prefer to get up early, get a bunch done in the parks, and go back for a rest, rather than miss rope drop and face longer lines.

We could do this no problem. - Party of 11 ages 1 years old - 65. You're giving yourself a realistic timeline for all.
