Are these allowed for carry on???

Can we bring chewing gum and pens in our carry on bags??

We're flying out of Detroit on Spirit so it's a domestic flight.

If there's anyone who has flown in the last couple of weeks and can let me know I'd appreciate it.Thanks

Yes you can carry pens. I flew yesterday and I had pens in my brief case.

As for gum, I am not sure. Check out the TSA website.

I flew with my gum yesterday and my bag was checked at security because I forgot I put a bottled water in my bag. As soon as the agent said "bag check!", it hit me!

Flew on Tuesday into DTW with pens and gum. No problem. HOwever, I can't wait for the new SMITH terminal to be GONE at DTW. Nasty doesn't even begin to descibe how bad the SPIRIT side is.
