Are there ever October deals?

I have a friend who is holding off from booking their first family trip to WDW in October because her travel agent assured her there might be package deals released. I don't remember seeing any deals for October but Im checking with you all to see if Im wrong?

I also encouraged her to book now if she knows her dates and if a deal is released, then they can apply it to her existing reservation. I have done that every time I've ever gone to WDW. Her travel agent (a friend of her inlaws) is encouraging her to hold off.

What should I tell her?

Discounts for that time of year came out mid August last year.

Both (different letter codes, but released at the same time). Even on a package, only the room portion is discounted.

In Oct 2005 we saved $400 on 7 nights at POR. My brother and his wife saved $350 +/- last year for 6 nights at POFQ (Yet my IL's saved $1000 on 9 nights at AKL...).

Also, for all 3 trips we were booked early and added the code after the fact... (in my 2005 trip the code was released 40 days prior to check in so we had already paid our balance. We were charged a $50 fee for being under 45 days and making a change, but it still saved $400!! They credited the money back to my credit card)

Not sure why the TA is telling them to wait Maybe so they don't purchase airfare and get locked into dates outside a code??

Those of you who got the Oct discount last year, do you remember that range of dates the discount covered? I'm considering either Sept or Oct and would defininitely take Oct. if I got a discount, even if free dining is offered in Sept. We can stay a day longer in Oct and we would go at the end of the month and do MNSSHP on Halloween night. Since it would be late Oct of trip would run into Nov. Thanks in advance.

The family friend TA, is she a Disney specialist? I'd hate to take advice from someone who usually books cruises for the local senior group...not saying that's the case, but.....

We have traveled the last 2 Oct. and yes they have offered deals usually covering most of Oct. with the exception of the first few days. The last 2 years the discounts were about in the 20% off range for resort part of pkg. Last year the choices at the deluxe level (esp. for AP) were very limited to just a few of the deluxe resorts. Friends of our were booked at POR and we also had friends at POP so they were able to get the discounts there. Bounce back and pins have covered most of the end of Oct. The first 2 weeks of Oct. were excluded from those offers so far this year and I hate to think what thats about. I think something will be out there and so far the discounts seem to be bigger this year than in the last couple of years. I hope that trend stays the same. By the way Oct. is becoming very popular.
