Are there ever discounts for the Fort Wilderness Cabins?

My family and I spent the weekend in Chattanooga in a cabin at a campground and now we are hooked!! We had so much fun staying in that little cabin and the ones at Disney look so nice.

Of all the times I've stayed at Fort Wilderness, I've never seen the cabins, are they out by themselves somewhere? Anyone have any info on these? Are they nice? Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for any help you can give.

We are looking forward to staying at the cabins this Christmas. I got a great code rate of $159/noc. I was thrilled with that until FL resident rates came out which brought it down to $139/noc. I think that is probably about the best discount you can get on the cabins.

If you look on Mary Warrings site she has all the discounts posted. As far as where the cabins are at, they aren't sceen from anywhere but in Ft Wilderness on an internal bus. they are nice and roomy compared to the normal resort room. You have a full size bed & twin bunk beds in the bedroom. There is a seperate living room with a Queen (think that was the size) Murphy bed. then you have a small kitchen area with full size fridege, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishwasher and a full size stove/oven. I stayed there in '96. They may have changed a bit ...... I know they have decks now & didn't when I stayed there. The only draw back is that the transportation is horrible! You have to walk (or rent a golf cart for the length of stay) to the internal bus stops & take them to the Ticket Center to go anywhere other than the Magic Kingdom. For the Magic Kingdom, you have to take the internal bus to the Settlement area & then walk to the ferry. When we stayed it was in July (rain season) and it isn't very fun doing all of that in the Thunder & Lightning Storms. Next time I stay there, I will use my car to go to the parks.....or rent the golf cart!!!!

Sorry for the dumb question but what does noc mean? Did you get the $159 rate with a code from Mousesavers? We would love to get the cabin for that rate! We will be going in July of 2003 and I think that is value season, so the rate would be $229 per night without a code. So I would be VERY happy with $159!

Also, if you did get the code from Mousesavers, do they usually list discounted rates for the cabins on the site or did you just call and ask if they had any codes for the cabins?

Thanks so much for all the info A MICKEYFAN. We will definitely rent a golf cart for our lengh of stay. When we stayed in the campsites that was one of my dh's favorite parts of the trip.... the golf cart! LOL We will hopefully be taking our bikes too. The cabins sound great and I can't wait to get started planning for this trip!!

If you go to the "Camping" forum you'll find tons of info about Fort Wilderness. We stayed for a week this past April/May and loved it! Although we didn't use the internal transportation system (except to take the boat to MK) I think it's changed since A Mickeyfan went in 1996...I believe there are direct buses to the parks now. Check out the camping forum for more info!
