I want to look at the holiday decorations at beach club, yacht club, boardwalk. Is parking free if you are only staying about an hour or do you have to pay for valet parking like at grand floridan.

From my understanding, the Boardwalk has a lot for people visiting the area. At any resort if you tell the guard you want to look around you can generally get a one to three hour parking pass.
FYI.....you can easily walk to this area from the Epcot International Gateway (by United Kingdom). You can also walk or boat to this area from the Disney Studios.

Yes, there is a fee to valet park. It's $7 plus tip. But if you have already paid once during the day, you do not have to pay again. They can give you a hang tag for your car to show you have already paid.

Since it would take only an hour or so out of your day, you could check out YC/BC, S/D, and BWI all in one loop after walking out of the International Gateway exit in the back of EPCOT. It is a nice easy walk to go around the lake, then you don't have to worry about parking, if you are already at EPCOT. Before we bought at BWV, we tried many times to park at the Boardwalk just to look around, and there weren't any parking spots.

Parking is free. The guard will give you a 3 hour parking pass. there is an auxiliary parking lot across the street from the Boardwalk. The guard may direct to to that lot. There is no fee for that lot either.

I may be misreading this statement. but valet parking isn't the only option at the GF. There is a parking lot across the street for free.
