I am going sat to sat I booked most of the nights but left 2 open so we can explore. I made ressies at the popular places like le cellier, but I was wondering if ALL of the restaurants in Disney need ADR's if not I would like 2 leave the 2 nights open without time restrictions. If you kn ow of any that dont take ressies, please share, oh btw im going 1st week in May so it shouldnt be that crowded. :wave2:

Beaches & Cream in the Beach club doesn't take reservations, but is listed as a table service meal :)

that's all I can think of for now.

I feel it best to assume that if a theme park restaurant offers ADRs but you don't need them, that the restaurant is probably not all that good. Buyer beware.

Captain Jack's, in DTD, does not do ADRs. It is walk-up only.

How about any in the showcase in Epcot, do you think I would be able to get any of the Countries via walkup?

Only if you are flexible as to what time you eat. Possibly very flexible...

It also depends on how many people are in your party. My DH and I went a week in August without a single reservation. We were able to get into every restaurant we wanted b/c we were a) flexible and b) a party of 2. Sometimes we ate a 5:00 pm and sometimes at 6:30 pm, but never any times that were completely inconvenient.

I have also gone with a group to China and Italy in Epcot without needing ressies.

All in all what would in everyones opinion be the busiest dinner time, we usually do not eat until 8 anyway, thats when all of our ressies are for.

Last trip we were able to walk right in at Marrekesh. We went around 7 pm. In the past we have walked up to Mama Melrose, and some of the resort restaurants.

Last April both of the resort restaurants we went to (Artist Point and Palio) were practically empty and this was around 7:00 - 7:30. We had wonderful meals at both!

We like to eat at 8 pm or later too (pre-baby). We've gotten into Bistro de Paris with a 10 min wait during F & W, and can cite many other examples. However, I would definitely do something like World Showcase or one of the parks where there's several choices you would like. Trekking to a hotel only to find nothing available would be a bummer.

Another thing we started to do last trip was wake up in the morning and decide what we wanted for dinner. We'd call that day and make an ADR, and we had no problem with later evening reservations. I imagine this experience my vary widely during different times of the year.

I'm with you in that I like to leave a couple days free-form, and with an ADR looming, it kinda kills the free spiritedness of the day.

We've walked into the Biergarten in Germany. Of course a lot has to do with the time of year you're going.

It seems as though some fill up faster than the others, especially at Epcot. You should be fine leaving 2 days open and maybe you can call in the middle of the day on the day of or in the morning to find out what is available. The last thing you'd want to do is to walk around the Worlds and try to find somewhere to eat. We walked up to the Rose & Crown to eat and had to wait about 45minutes or so, but around the time we got seated, they had a long list of people waiting. Rose & Crown is a great place to see fireworks too if you like to eat dinner a bit later (but would have to make reservations). Also when we ate at Alfredo's (Italy) we had reservations, but it seemed like nobody was waiting.....

I really wouldn't worry too much, but like I said, you may want to make some sort of plan early that afternoon so you aren't walking around too much at Epcot.

We were at Chefs de France in early Nov. We had a 5:30 ADR but they did take some walk ups. The F&W festival was going on so I don't know if that had anything to with it or not. But it was a great restaurant and I would eat there again :flower:

We have never tried to do a walk up, but last september we just booked most of our table service meals 12-24 hours in advance and that was during the time of free dining I think if i were doing the dining plan then i would make adr's before going to be sure you can use your credits. It will also depend on what time of year you are going.
